Night out next week, in a casino, meal, entertainment, tutorial and then playing the tables. Dress code is smart casual? What would you wear.?

Smarter than you think it is, I'd wear evening wear like a midi dress or smart trousers and a nice top.
This dress code does not include jeans or informal shoes like trainers.

Mumtotwo82 · 26/11/2019 23:33

No jeans or trainers

ActualHornist · 26/11/2019 23:33

I'd wear jeans and a nice top, blazer and boots probably.

Blackbear19 · 26/11/2019 23:36

I've been caught out by this dress code before - I thought black jeans & fancy top - I was seriously underdressed, every other female was in a fancy dress.

Nothing casual about a smart casual dress code!

Onepuddingisneverenough · 26/11/2019 23:38

No jeans , And heels or smart shoes
Anything else you can pull off or smart dress and boots or pants blazer etc

Ah the dreaded dress code quandry!

I agree with raspberryk. Minimum is smart trousers and a nice shell/top. Given the time of year, add a jacket, ideally one with a bit of subtle sparkle, sheen (like velvet), or a color that doesn't seem too businesslike. If you like wearing frocks, now's the time to dig one out of the wardrobe (or if you have time and money to spend, go buy) and pair with shoes that are both dressy and comfortable. You'll find yourself on your feet a lot more than you might think, or perched on those stupid high chairs made for people (men) much taller than you.

WTF is a 'nice shell'?!

I'd be caught out by this for sure! Luckily I don't socialise outside of family where I can wear pyjamas Grin
