To feel thoroughly ashamed of myself?

My DH has just been hoovering the sofa and found... some parts of a game we haven't played for 2 years, the TV remote we lost a year ago AND a phone which disappeared the previous Feb! I also have a highly convincing answer to my question: "Where on earth do all my pens disappear to?" How embarrassing!!

We sold our sofa years ago and they came to collect it, lifted it up and all the soggy chips fell out from various takeaways.
Oh and I never used to move the rug in the hall to clean very often. Until one day and there was a mouse that was as flat as a pancake under it. Since then I move it every week!
