AIBU?

To cook pork chops that have been in my deep freezer since April?

Found them at the bottom of the deep freezer as I've got fuck all else in the house besides the couple of packs of meat I found, pork chops, chicken breasts and I think some thighs too.

Will we be horribly unwell if I defrost any of these and cook them?

I've got basically fuck all else besides seasoning.

Help!

Nah, they'll be fine. I've eaten much older and lived to tell the tale.

Enjoy!

Yes of course, I often eat things that have been lurking around for ages, never been ill.

If you defrost and cook properly, why would you get sick. As long as your freezer was OK and never defrosted, they are absolutely fine

Yes I'm very confident that they have been frozen since I bought them. Thanks guys.

Meat lasts for ever and ever and ever in a good freezer.
But! The consistency changes over the time. So the lamb from 2017 I found last month went into stew rather than roast.

I would eat them without hesitation.

I decorated some mince the other day that had a BB of July. I'm still alive!

I'm just cooking some dried butterbeans that were best before May 2017. They'll be fine right?

I once read that some people cooked a steak from a mammoth that had been in the permafrost for millennia. So I think your pork chops will be fine :)

Wanna know how you decorated your mince, please, ToddlerteaGrin

Pork chops cooked and smell delicious, wrapped them in foil to rest while the wedges finish cooking. (I know, I'm a heathen)
