The other one I don't like is people saying they are excited "for" something when they mean they are excited "about" it, or looking forward to it.
In shared presentations, people seem to have started saying things like, "he'll talk to that slide, and can you talk to this one?" No, I can't. I can talk about the slide, to the audience, but I'm not talking to the bloody slide, because it won't listen. (Haven't actually dared say this yet, though I fear it would become a full-blown rant about the misuse of prepositions and phrasal verbs and stuff, and they'll all look at me like they don't know what I'm on about (because they probably don't,) and like I've gone mad. Again.)
