My ds2 has a sickness bug, just started this morning. Aibu to keep ds1 off school on Monday a) because i'll have to take ds2 to school drop off and dont want to spread his germs b) because ds1 is likely to have the bug in his system too.

I wouldn’t keep my other child off no.

DS had a sickness bug this week, my other child still went to school. We just didn’t hang around.

The rest of us didn’t get it so you can’t predict that your other DS will.

It isn't unreasonable at all. If you think the best thing to do is keep both at home for the day, then that is what you should do.

You're the mum, they are your children, you do what you feel is right.

I hope your little one gets better soon!

Unless he is showing signs of being ill then yes it would be unreasonable.

Reallybadidea · 23/11/2019 16:58

Unless your ds2 is coming into close contact with other people on the school run then he won't pass it on. And you can't keep your other child off just in case because he might not get it.

Only because they will probably drive you nuts. To be honest I picked up a vommy DD2 from school at 12 on Friday (she was fine when she went in) and asked them to give me DD3 as well as I couldn’t be bothered to drive back to school a few hrs later.

So I wouldn’t be judging you! Though so far (touch lots of wood) only DD2 was victim and her two sisters and I haven’t caught it so you can’t be sure your other DS will.

Thanks all, we had tickets to go on the polar express today, rubbish timing with sickness bug! Hopefully ds1 will avoid it!
