To be confused what this midwife appointment is? Would you just go?

Hello- just wondering I am 31+4 pregnant with second baby, had normal appt with midwife this week (no issues) and appt booked for 34 weeks for routine review. I have this morning had a letter from the local community hospital inviting me for an appointment at antenatal clinic this wednesday- no other details. Am up to date with vaccinations, Resus -ve but have had the anti-D and am completely clueless as to what this would be for. Do I just turn up? I will try and ring Monday to find out but the last few times I’ve tried to call no one ever answers the phone. Any ideas what it could be for? Thanks!

Did you have any issues in your previous pregnancy or birth? Could it be a birth options type appointment?

Napqueen1234 · 23/11/2019 14:56

Not really- I’ve asked for a home birth this time so at last appointment was referred to homebirth team who apparently do a home visit at around 36 weeks. Also last baby was LGA and this one measuring on 90th centile but again no issues and at the midwife appt she said was fine and no indication for growth scan etc. Flummoxed!

If it’s easy to get to I’d probably just go, but you could call down on Monday and ask if anyone knows what it’s for just incase theres something that’s slipped through or a wrong box ticked somewhere.

Meeting your health visitor? I seem to remember it was around that time I first met the HV

Napqueen1234 · 23/11/2019 15:05

Ooh @socksforchristmas that’s true in my file is says around 28 weeks which has obviously been and gone for meeting HV (2nd child so not been as bothered or chased up...) so perhaps it’s that?

I reckon it'll be that. I think I was 34/ 35 weeks when I was invited to meet mine - although the letter did explain - but perhaps that's because they outsource to virgin care where I live?
