Does anyone know I’d Lidl sell Christmas puddings? Would like to not weigh my bag down with one when I go.

I lived there once and would doubt it. Can't you ring Lidl here and ask?

tillytrotter1 · 24/11/2019 08:25

There's nothing in the current offer leaflet but in Germany they don't go crazy about Christmas quite as early as we do!

geekone · 24/11/2019 08:35

That isn’t true. I was in Frankfurt on the 4th of November and there were Christmas trees everywhere.

However that didn’t answer the question. Sorry

thebadcop · 24/11/2019 08:43

Christmas pudding are a UK thing. You won't find them in Lidl in Germany. no chance (I lived there for a while).

newyearoldme · 24/11/2019 08:44

No you can't get Christmas puds in Germany. Believe me, I've tried.

goodiegoodieyumyum · 24/11/2019 08:50

Lidl don't but Kardstadt or Galeria Kaufhof may do, whereabouts in germany are you going, some cities have British shops.

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 24/11/2019 08:53

No, they don’t. You might get something in Karstadt, Galleria Kaufhof or a British shop, but not in a regular supermarket. You can get them on Amazon though!

Cornettoninja · 24/11/2019 09:04

Could you post one to the address you’re going to? I’ve no idea of the cost of postage vs baggage allowances but it’s worth looking into.

Cornettoninja · 24/11/2019 09:05

Sorry! Didn’t fully read @kalinkafoxtrot45 post - Amazon is a good idea.

Living in Germany at the moment and back home to Ireland visiting people now. I am bringing back mince pies, Christmas pudding, selection boxes and the big tubs of sweets like celebrations home with me. You might me able to get some things locally but they may well cost a fortune

TrickyD · 24/11/2019 09:20

Why not ring UK customer service ask? I enquired about whether something I always buy at Christmas would be available and the operator took a lot of trouble to find out.

Helenlegs · 24/11/2019 12:30

Thanks so much everybody. Family live in Dusseldorf. I’ve always taken a pudding and a cake when I’ve gone over Christmas. Didn’t think to try Kaufhof or Karstadt. I guess if they did have them the price would be crazy with them not being a ‘thing’ there. Good idea to contact customer services.
