to think it’s not funny any more, just a bit shit and grim?

Oh I dunno I was crying at the Sandy Balls stuff the other week.

DogAndCatPerson · 21/11/2019 12:37

I never thought it was funny

Squigean · 21/11/2019 12:42

The story was always s.d it. Totally ridiculous. It's the three friends reactions to the shitness that makes it funny.

It has got to the stage where it's so ludicrous that they dong even notice clangers like 'navy sealions'

Squigean · 21/11/2019 12:43

s.d it = shit

FatAndFurious7 · 21/11/2019 12:50

It was always grim for sure but like pp said it's more about the 3 speakers reactions that makes it funny and entertaining. I love listening to it on a Monday and have a good old chuckle to myself in the car on the way to work. To be honest the more outrageous the plot becomes the funnier it is for me.

BertrandRussell · 21/11/2019 12:51

I know the story’s always been shit- it’s just got joyless and unfunny now.

I’ve always loved it but it’s starting to run its course now. It’s still one of the funnies things I’ve ever listened to though. There are priceless episodes and plots

MonsteraDeliciosa · 21/11/2019 13:16

I tried it after recommendations on here. I didn't rate it at all: a couple of smiles in 2 episodes, that's all.
But then again I don't like podcasts that feature people discussing things; makes me feel like a Nobby No-mates listening in to the discussion on the next table in a café/pub.

Mayorquimby2 · 21/11/2019 13:21

I think it's just a bit of a chore now.
It's gone on too long.

Found it very funny at the start, I'm not sure if the quality has dropped or (more likely) it's diminishing returns and I've tired of the joke

Jokie · 21/11/2019 13:25

I stopped listening after season 3. I just didn't get into it after that

DobbyLovesSocks · 21/11/2019 13:28

I've seen this mentioned a few times on MN. What is this and where do I find it - god knows I could do with a laugh!

BertrandRussell · 21/11/2019 13:34

It’s a podcast- you can find it on ITunes. But don’t bother past series 1 or possibly 2.

OP posts:
Squigean · 21/11/2019 13:57

You'll get it on pretty much any podcast provider.

emwantsbiscuits · 21/11/2019 14:46

I think it’s still brilliant. I was crying with laughter at Dr Stud and the weird German accent.

Andysbestadventure · 21/11/2019 14:48

Deffo has run it's course.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 21/11/2019 14:51

I thought it was just me. With the exception of the first episode of this series I’ve not really found it funny.

Perhaps it has run it’s course.

Squigean · 21/11/2019 20:22

I'm with you @emwantsbiscuits it still makes me laugh, definitely the three friends and not the plot though that just farcical.

Fredy45 · 21/11/2019 20:45

I am on a re listen atm and laughed like a drain through the first couple of series. I'm up to the start of season 3 and Jamie is pulling out the stops accent wise.

It does get repetitive though. How many times can Alice be horrified by cervixes and lids.

I am actually liking the footnotes more. Daisy Ridley is RUINED for me and the one with Micheal sheen is genius.
