We haven't had heating for 2 months, currently wearing 4 layers in bed.

The house is freezing! ☃️🌬️

Plumbers come, look at the work (new radiator needed), then leave. Promising to send a quote but we never get one!

Can't they just say no thanks? I imagine the job is too small or too fiddly? Fed up with being cold and let down. Waiting for 'a quote next week' that never arrives. ☹️☃️🌬️

Find another plumber?!!

There are lots of larger companies (like Pimlico plumbers if you are in London) who will come out and just do the job, hourly rates.
This can work out a lot cheaper sometimes, plus they, in general, will turn up when they say they will as the plumbers are employed/self-contractors rather than 1 man bands.

Plumbers probably won’t quote for a quote for a small job, it will be the cost of the parts plus their hourly rate so you should have just booked the plumber in to do the job while he was in your house, this time of year plumbers are in high demand with their regular customers and will prioritise them first, if you don’t have your boiler serviced annually I’m guessing you don’t have a regular Plumber, this is one of the benefits of annual boiler service, you become a customer not just somebody ringing up when things go wrong. You could phone an emergency plumber but their rates are a lot higher.
