So in the last few days I've been feeling very broody. I have a 20 month old and I'm not planning on having anymore for another year or a year and a half. Recently it's like my brain has been plagued With everything baby! Watching newborns on YouTube in family vlogs, thinking back to when I was pregnant, imagining life with a new baby. Then I looked at my app and I'm ovulating!! This happens to me everything month,am I the only one?!

Never happens to me anyway, I haven't felt broody ever I don't think. I like babies and all but I had my 2nd (and last) at 25 and have never felt broody since then and I'm 41 now :p

No never.
It makes me frisky but never broody.
The sight of a cute newborn does but only for a minute. Shock

Ponoka7 · 18/11/2019 10:25

It does for some women, it's well documented.

So does those last rushes of hormones before the peri menopause.

mumsince2018 · 18/11/2019 10:26

Interesting- maybe it's because I feel like I'm not done having kids yet and you felt fulfilled after having your second? Maybe it's just me then haha

every month

GrumpyHoonMain · 18/11/2019 10:29

No. Just violent (pcos, so ovulation is painful)

mumsince2018 · 18/11/2019 10:33

Well I'm glad it's been well documented! My bodies tricking me into thinking now is the right time to have a baby, makes you forget all the sleepless nights and crying. And makes you think it's all snuggles

It happens to me, it's been happening more as I get older and as my DC get older too. Told DH the other night that I really want another baby and that if he hadn't had a vasectomy I'd be wanting to TTC. Two days later and the feeling has completely passed, the thought of another pregnancy/baby/child gives me the heave, and I'm so glad he's had the snip so there is no opportunity to act on those feelings!

Broody, not so much. Fancying a shag? Definitely. Sadly I'm married to an insufferable dick wad, so I go without, I spent too much of my 20s and 30s having sex with men who weren't very nice to me, it's not how I'm going to spend my 40s.

Emeraldshamrock · 18/11/2019 10:37

It is a natural feeling to have during ovulation, as I said upthread I get extremely horny similiar reaction for the same results a newborn.
I have two DC after my 2nd any broodiness disappeared he put me off babies for life. Grin

Rainbowtheunicorn · 18/11/2019 10:39

I only feel broody when DD is being well behaved.

Any other time I’m like ‘hell no’ I can’t do this all again. Only child all the way!

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 18/11/2019 10:46

I was broody the other day and then I got AF for the first time since 11 month old DS was born.

So yes, for me it absolutely makes me broody.
