Maybe H&M have decamped to the US to avoid a brewing storm.

Moomin8 · 18/11/2019 00:52

There is no reason for him to have to justify it to us.

Uh, he's 8th in line to the throne. What a load of rubbish.

heath48 · 18/11/2019 00:59

Public opinion doesn’t bother him it seems,he has announced he will carry on with his engagements as per usual.

He really is an arrogant thick prat.

SirHumphreyDrinkalot · 18/11/2019 06:28

The charities may continue to support him. He may continue to perform his duties. But will the crowds turn up in the numbers that he’s used to?

Shame if he got booed on Christmas Day doing the walk of shame.

LaurieMarlow · 18/11/2019 07:01

He is not paid for by the tax payer and so is not answerable to us

Why do you keep spouting this bullshit? Hmm

He gets Crown Estate money. Of course he’s answerable to us.

Tun55 · 18/11/2019 07:14

@Tvstar
It’s about associating with pedos. It’s not about who pays for his meals! Isn’t it creeping you out - being friends with Eipstein. I read somewhere this Eipstein gifted himself 12yr olds girls for his birthday. I have a 12yr told and my blood is boiling. Being associated with such scum of scums is not called “being honourable”. He is bloody answerable to everyone and to the law.

Tun55 · 18/11/2019 07:28

Soo many lies in the interview. What’s wrong in pda and partying ? Nothing illegal as long as children/trafficked women are not involved. Look at the pics here. Sorry it’s a DM link

SouthWestmom · 18/11/2019 07:30

Watched it. My take on it was he knew what his friend was up to and didn't really care, but probably didn't sleep with VG. Think he thought he could blag it and god knows who he role played the questions with first. They must be wetting themselves laughing.

Roussette · 18/11/2019 07:30

He can be friends with and stay with whoever he likes. There is no reason for him to ha eto justify it to us

Absolute bollocks, excuse my french. No, he can't be friends with whoever he likes, he is a member of the Royal Family, he gets money from the royal purse, he was the Trade envoy for the UK at the time, he was soliciting and promoting the country's name all over the world. He has to justify every bit of his behaviour. He has to be whiter than white. How can anyone think otherwise?

Yes, he is anwerable to us. And particularly so at the time, as he was representing the UK in a paid post as a trade envoy.

Candle1000 · 18/11/2019 07:35

He can be friends with and stay with whoever he likes. There is no reason for him to ha eto justify it to us

Of course he can be friends with whoever he likes - doesn’t make it right though.

Medievalist · 18/11/2019 07:36

The charities may continue to support him. He may continue to perform his duties. But will the crowds turn up in the numbers that he’s used to?

You bet they will. But most of them will be photographers and journalists!

Tun55 · 18/11/2019 07:38

@Tvstar You are MOST DEFINITELY Sarah Ferguson or the Queen

LaurieMarlow · 18/11/2019 07:46

Well Sarah is more likely to make a foray onto MN than the Queen, so I’m guessing her.

Roussette · 18/11/2019 07:48

It's reported by BBC that PA stands by his car crash of an interview. Well... he would wouldn't he? His arrogance is astounding.

And this is a man who classes, sex trafficing and procuring minors for prostitution as.... conduct unbecoming. Says it all. Not one ounce of sympathy for the victims whatever his actions were.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 18/11/2019 07:49

But he has not been charged with anything and I believe in innocent until proven guilty.

All well and good and I'd be with you....IF the person is subject to the normal process of law ie.,

Being subjected to rigourous questioning by UK police, without deference to his exalted position.

Assisting and cooperating with the FBI, providing statements under oath. Doing all he can for the sake of the victims.

If found to have abetted sex trafficking by nature of sleeping with girl(s) who were under duress, bring arrested and charged.

But none of this applies to him. He is in too high a position to be touched. He wants to do cosy TV interviews inside the Palace where he has control (or so he thought). So there is no hope of justice.

It's fucking laughable how the rules don't apply. Just the other day permission was granted to extradite a British Citizen, a woman, to America to face criminal charges for crimes she comitted there. She is a regular joe blogs, (and although it was right she was extradited) having committed crimes that are no where near this high profile . The same will never happen to PA.

The second part proven guilty can't happen. Therefore it is up to people to interpret what they want based on his own words and the evidence as they see it.

Spudlet · 18/11/2019 07:51

Of course he can be friends with who he likes. Of course he can stay where he likes.

However, he also has to accept the consequences of his choices. He chose to - at best - turn a blind eye to his friend’s paedophilia. He chose to turn a blind eye to young girls coming and going. He chose to spend days in the company of a convicted paedophile. And he chose to give an interview which has made him appear unbelievably out of touch and stupid at best, and like a man hiding something at worst. He gets to deal with the consequences of all of those choices. By rights some of those consequences should be legal ones - questioning at the very least. But I won’t hold my breath for that.

isabellerossignol · 18/11/2019 07:52

His comment about being too honourable is hilarious. Bet if he was a mere mortal and had to do job interviews he'd be the sort of tool who says that his biggest weakness is that he's just too dedicated.

isabellerossignol · 18/11/2019 07:54

On a more serious note, imagine being one of the royals and knowing that you can actually do whatever you want and there is not a chance that the local constabulary will be knocking on your door to arrest you. It's almost surprising that they're not all as terrible humans as he is.

EntropyRising · 18/11/2019 08:00

If he slept with her thinking it was concecual and thinking she was 18, and turns out she's 17, well, meh..

This is missing the point. Mistaking a 17 year old for an 18 year old is not at all what this is about, it's about whether he should have known the extent of Epstein's activities.

SkaraBrae · 18/11/2019 08:00

What's also hilarious is his excuse of staying at Epstein's place when he went over to 'break up' with him.
First is was 'convenient'. Then later on he said he was so hard to get hold of Epstein he had to stay with him to make sure they could talk.
What is wrong with a phone???

He was guest of honour at a party to celebrate Epstein's freedom after he was released from jail.
PA got offended by the description of a 'party', as it was according to him only a dinner party.
So being the guest of honour at a dinner thrown by a convicted sex offender was fine?

EntropyRising · 18/11/2019 08:01

His comment about being too honourable is hilarious.

That was a humdinger.

EntropyRising · 18/11/2019 08:02

First is was 'convenient'.

We all know how hard it might be for a rich guy to find a place to stay in New York.

EntropyRising · 18/11/2019 08:05

Hard to imagine this guy is Prince Charles's brother.
