I was joking. Of course it's a car crash situation. Of course he must have done it, and worse. And the interview is a singularly awful thing and unbelievably bad decision to do it. Yes, the arrogance is exhausting - to think that to give an interview where he just sits and denies even being able to sweat will make this go away.
The Pizza Express alibi is interesting. Presumably he wouldn't have said that unless there was some proof.
The whole Epstein story is deeply disturbing. I myself was a teenager in the US visiting in 1988 and was kind of groomed by a senator. The only thing that saved me was that as I was on antibiotics, I'd refused to drink. When I realised what he wanted, I left straight away - ran from a penthouse with an Evian-water jacuzzi out down into the posh car park and up the ramp out into the Washington night. That was scary in itself, but I was lucky to get a taxi and escape. I remember how angry he was, and how surprised.
I think, though, that Prince Andrew is being pursued as a high-profile figure, who brings extra publicity in the US by being Meghan's Uncle to boot. Whatever did happen with him, he wasn't running the operation. What I find extraordinary is that the ghastly Ghislaine has gone to ground, and nobody seems to be pursuing her. I feel the energy should be on her. And I'm surprised why the main victim is focusing on one of the many men who she encountered, rather than the woman who day to day abused, imprisoned, threatened and coerced her.
