To really dislike the instant online sharing generation?

For example. I'm at a small family barbecue. Return home and go onto instagram. Que lots of pictures and videos uploaded that I had no idea I was a part of (or my son, which I do not put online). Can't people enjoy something social without plastering it everywhere online? Or at least only upload themselves/friends that are aware?

Maybe I am being unreasonable and just need to adapt to how things are now. But I'm only 26. If I feel like this surely there are older generations that feel even more against it?

Agreed that it’s the older generation who typically do this. Younger people who’ve grown up with social media have been educated about over sharing and putting too much out there so tend no to (making a generalisation anyway) whereas typically older people can’t fathom how oversharing can be a bad thing. Again, generalising, these are also the people who don’t have much in the way of privacy settings.
An older relative announced my pregnancy online before we had told DHs family and couldn’t fathom why we were upset. It was a real eye opener to the battle re oversharing information about our DC that was coming

@newbie1981 they are rolling it out in different areas at a time. If you search it on Google it has already happened in a lot of places.

@HolyMilkBoobiesBatman that would annoy me so much!!!! I had to ask a friend to delete their comment tagging me in a pregnancy post. Don't know how I would have reacted to someone announcing for me!

My teens only share stuff via Snapchat because it’s temporary. They have a very curated Insta feed that is regularly culled (the way Insta’s dead these days anyway) and never post on FB.

Sorry - they say insta’s dead...
