Paperchase tit wrapping paper?

Onthetrain75 · 15/11/2019 21:24

So I was in Paperchase earlier today when I noticed white wrapping paper covered with what I am pretty sure was various types of silver tits. I said to the assistant, if you’re going to sell this, where is the knob paper? AIBU to think they should sell both?!!

From someone that had breast cancer last year at age 42, it would be great if they had included a mastectomy scar or two, as these are also"normal".

Why would they sell both? Pretty much everyone in my town has seen my boobs as I breastfed ds for almost 5 years. Men go topless all the time.

If it were minge you'd have an argument.

I think it's lovely inclusive paper.

In other news, Paperchase isn't aimed at kids and I think that you aren't forced to buy shit you don't want

Breasts are not generals 🙄 they cannot be compared to cocks. You’re only offended because you don’t consider men’s nipples as sexual but you have been conditioned to see women’s breasts as sexual

@ranoutofquinoaandprosecco is the one on the second to the bottom row, third one across not meant to be a mastectomy?

@AuntyElle do you mean objectification as in the boobs are treated like any other everyday object like if they had lots of different teapots on there? Because, yes, it’s normalising boobs and making them not sexual, just boobs...

I'd never heard of it, but I actually really like it and might treat myself. They're just boobs at the end of the day!!

Bloody hell, is nothing sacred anymore? Boobs and knobs and scrotums (scrota?) out, left right and centre.

< reaches for smelling salts >

It weren't like this in my day.

I think it represents diversity rather than titillation

Diverse titillation?

Paper base is not “niche” 😂😂😂

@MiddleClassProblem EXACTLY, I'm so sick of it being accepted by society that women can walk around in wisps of material for the gratification of the male eye but nourish a child and there's gasps of horror at revealing anything below the neck!

No, MiddleClassProblem, I mean that breasts are objectified like no other body part. They are not equivalent to teapots Hmm and their use here has nothing to do with breastfeeding. Paperchase do not scatter feet or noses all over their products (I’m pretty sure... I spend a fair amour of time in there.) Paperchase are partial to a bit of faux wokeness, eg their No Plastics postcard displayed in a sea of plastic products.

I like the tits... They don't look sexualised to me. I have issues with people sexualising them and somehow having a problem with them being on a wrapping paper to me seems more like part of the problem???

As in, there's baby bottles on stuff, milk bottles on baby grows, pacifiers on postcards, etc, why can't the 'original' be used as an illustration?

MiddleClassProblem · 15/11/2019 23:11

I agree if the plastic comes in plastic it’s ridiculous. But I had a notebook with eyes on it from there a few years ago. Moustaches were bloody everywhere.
This just has a bit of a meaning to those who feel it is the right way to say it as well as being a body part. I didn’t even say anything about breastfeeding.

So if women (who are paperchase’s target audience, not men, buying team are majority, if not all women) buy products with an array of different shaped boobs drawn on them. This is objectification because?
Sorry I don’t get it, but I’d like to understand. To me they are products for women. If boobs of all shapes and sizes were seen all over the place on a daily basis they would not be just seen as sexy anatomy. Surely continuing to hide them like contraband is what adds to the allure?

They do a pencil case with the same Boob pattern. I want it as my job involves helping people breast feed! Can't see what the problem is.

Genital socks and the like I now need genital socks.

Anyone who thinks that Paperchase has done this in order to help promote breastfeeding or desexualise breasts, really do need to give their boob a wobble.

Report
MiddleClassProblem · 15/11/2019 23:38

Sure, they will only sell stuff for good sales. They can’t run on altruism... but I can’t see the harm in boobs just being boobs.
