To ask if you’ve had breast implant removal with no uplift?

I’m booked in next month for my implants to be removed as one has capsular contracture but i can’t afford an uplift/ don’t want implants back in again.
What was the recovery like? I’m hoping I’m going to be comfortable by Christmas.
So nervous about what I’m going to be left with!😣

Me. Had implants removed about 4 years ago no replacement. They look ok haven't been left with much but didn't have much to start with. It does take a while to adjust to your new look they will be a lot saggier/smaller but they dont look terrible. Maybe save up for a replacement?

B00bless · 11/11/2019 13:43

@happyandsingle Thanks for your reply. What was your recovery like?
I don’t want an implant replacement as the surgeon has said I’m higher risk for capsular contracture and I’d like to prevent the need for future surgeries.

Recovery was easy. No pain and up and about after a couple of days- but maybe I was just lucky.
Scars underneath are a lot more noticeable now as I'm a lot flatter. What size were you before? As for capsular contracture there are new surgery techniques to minimize this as it's a very common problem with implants.

B00bless · 11/11/2019 15:39

@happyandsingle That’s good to know, thanks.
I was an A/B before and I’m now a D and has them put in over 12 years ago pre children so I presume they’re going to be pretty deflated!

Im a plastic scrub nurse, it varies patient to patient how much tissue you had to start with and how big the implants were.

Inliverpool1 · 11/11/2019 16:32

Well this has convinced me I’m saving up for the implants. No way am I going back to the pre surgery spaniel eats look

B00bless · 11/11/2019 21:23

@Inliverpool1 The saggyness is something I’m just going to have to get used to. Anything’s got to be better than these stuck on rocks!!

bumping because I'd also like to know

ittakes2 · 12/11/2019 21:47

Me - I did that. Had implants Pre children and was expecting to be totally flat like I was originally but I guess children improved things so was not as bad as I thought it would be. Although my implants were only 200 each so that might of helped. I didn’t want a lift and don’t regret it. Ultrasound boob lady said my new implant free boobs look like other 40 year old something boobs - not that I asked her for reassurance!
But as another poster said it’s nice to be free from having hard lumps in my chest.

ittakes2 · 12/11/2019 21:52

Re recovery - I think it depends on your age and weight etc as my doctor said the GA sits in your fat. I took me 2 weeks to feel ok after a 2hr operation. But I had several taking out my implants and replacing them operations in my 20s due to capsular contraction and I was usually bouncing around the next day.

B00bless · 13/11/2019 07:40

I’m 33 and bmi 25.5, I had a small gynae op last year and felt groggy from the general for a few days after. I’m most worried about lifting my DD in and out of her cot but my DH will be here to help the weekend following my op.
I had a Emcs with my DS and managed to be up about after a few days (although in pain) so it can’t be anywhere as bad as that!

Have you had the removal yet? How did it go and how do they look?

Daydreamsinglorioustechnicolor · 04/02/2021 16:39

@B00bless I'd love to know how it went and how you feel about the results. I'm thinking of doing the same.
