Lighthearted but I’m curious. Yesterday at church we had Morning service, then a parade through town to the memorial for wreath laying then back to church for a service.
Afterwards we were clearing up and I said to a couple of friends that I was off home for a bath before Evensong. Best mate said she’d join me (private joke as don’t actually share the same bath!) but the other woman was horrified. Apparently you should only have a bath in the evening and she had never heard of anyone having a bath in the afternoon. A quick opinion poll of others seemed to suggest that this is a popular opinion. I work from home so will often have a bath in the day as it frees up the evening for work, getting meals, child’s homework etc
Is it really that odd?

Writing this from the bath, have one whenever you want one!

ffswhatnext · 11/11/2019 09:38

I have a bath when I want one regardless of time.

KnittingSister · 11/11/2019 09:40

Never, haven't had a bath for years!

AnneKipanki · 11/11/2019 09:41

Whatever floats your boat ( or duck )

User3421090989098 · 11/11/2019 10:31

Whenever I fancy, mainly in the afternoon though!

BarrytheFatcat · 11/11/2019 10:35

When I was pregnant last year I went through a period of having a bath in the middle of the night because I couldn't sleep and it was the only thing that would settle my stomach!

PumpkinP · 11/11/2019 10:36

Every morning as I don’t have a shower

Jollitwiglet · 11/11/2019 10:38

If I have a bath it's usually in the evening as otherwise my toddler will just climb on in.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 11/11/2019 10:40

Once a year: whether I need it or not Grin

I'm a shower person.

MsChatterbox · 11/11/2019 10:40

I have a bath whenever I fancy if I'm home.

Corneysjazzband · 11/11/2019 10:43

An afternoon bath is luxury. I knot the net curtain (plain glass window, listed house so no option to change) out of the way once I am safely in. That way I can look out at the garden and sometimes see the pheasants wandering around. Or a visiting cat trying to sneak through. I wash my hair in the bath and like leaving it to air dry as this gives my hair the best shape. Hate it blow dried. DH is rarely home before 8:30 so if we have an evening bath and a meal, there is no evening left. Mornings is not an option. I do not like mornings.

MrsMozartMkII · 11/11/2019 10:43

Anytime of the day is the right time for a bath.

Mornings - gives a good pause to contemplate.

Afternoons - either decadent or good for aching muscles.

Evening - switch off time.

Gillian1980 · 11/11/2019 10:44

I quite like a daytime bath while dd is at school. No audience or non-stop “mummy, mummy, mummy”

thatwasMauijustmessingaround · 11/11/2019 10:47

Can't remember the last time I had a bath. Definitely haven't had one in this house and I've lived here over a year.

I just shower 🤷🏻‍♀️

Newbie1999 · 11/11/2019 10:48

I only have a bath to relax with a glass of wine and the iPad, never to actually wash! That’s what a shower is for.

SunshineAngel · 11/11/2019 10:48

I don't like having a bath at any other time other than evening, as it relaxes me too much, and I just want to chill afterwards (so don't want to cook or go to work or whatever).

I have a quick shower each morning to freshen up, and a shower most evenings - if I have plenty of time, I will have a bath on either the Saturday or Sunday, but I like to set at least an hour and a half aside to have the bath and then lay on the bed reading for a bit, and I don't often have that time to spare.

Runnerduck34 · 11/11/2019 15:51

I prefer baths in the evening as a way to unwind and then I can put my pyjamas on and relax for the rest of the evening.
I have sometimes taken a bath in the day when I've been off sick or if it it's been my only window of opportunity during the day ( when DC were small etc) but it did feel strange somehow! Previous pp is right thou getting dressed again is a pain and my hair is always frizz city after a bath!

ThereIsIron · 11/11/2019 16:02

My last bath was in 1989 Grin

Cleanfreshbedding · 11/11/2019 17:15

Sunday teatime is bath time for me but only in autumn/winter. I love a good wallow with Downton/Call the Midwife on the iPad.
I love it even more if it’s raining and freezing cold outside.
Clean pyjamas and clean bedding after is just bliss.

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 11/11/2019 17:30

I really really feel the cold so I’ll have a bath when I need a good defrost.

Shower every morning to get clean and a bath whenever I fancy one.

I won’t have a bath if I’m going out again that day though as I like to scrawp my hair up, take my make up off and stick my pjs on after.

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 11/11/2019 17:32

Well, I don't have a shower so I have a bath every morning.

About twIce a year!
Always shower.

dementedma · 11/11/2019 17:55

Typing this in the bath right now! Evenings or late afternoons here. Mornings is weird

MonsterKidz · 11/11/2019 17:56

Usually I’ll bath at night and shower in the morning. Like others I like to our pjs on after a bath and in the winter it warms me up. I like it hot.
However, i’ve been known to have s bath in daytime too, especially if i’ve been out doing something like gardening, walking, or after a cold or rainy stand on the side of the footie pitch watching sons. Then a bath is lovely in the afternoon.
