I know I am but please help...I've tried and tried and I'm just not good at it!

What I want to do is create an A4 print with a repeat of an image on it multiple times.

The image, I want to appear within a 35mm circle...so however many of of them I can fit onto an A4 sheet.

I've tried to use Canva...no joy...it seems so complex! I did download GIMP which purports to be a sort of free Photoshop but it's like looking at a foreign language!

Has anyone got some sort of fool proof instructions for me please?

I've worked out how to get text to appear in the circles but I wanted the text to go round the outside of the circle...maybe that's too much for Powerpoint?

Should say "round the inside of the circle!"

Totally possible. Insert .... wordart....choose style (can amend later).... type text in box that appears....click on the text box on an edge to highlight it... choose format from top toolbar...text effects (just to right of centre at top) .... transform... choose a circular shape. To amend style of letters, click on text box and format text fill, outline, change font etc. Depending on version of PowerPoint, some commands be in diff place. If in doubt, select help and type in Wordart

Once you have selected your shape (circular text), an orange dot will plead on the text box. Moving this around and resizing the text and the text box will allow you to fine tune. It's a bit hot and miss for the first one. Then copy to the next circle and just edit the text as needed.

Or inside - with outline of text removed

I'm having trouble with this instruction "Click on the text box on an edge to highlight it"

I've got the box to pop up and have typed in it but nothing happens when I click on the edge of the text box...

OP posts:
BillHadersNewWife · 11/11/2019 11:54

Ok I've worked out how to transform now but the text box is just floating in the middle of the screen...when I type, it's not going into a circle...even though I have one selected...

I won't go into circle on its own. It is an object on its own right. Click the text box to make sure it is highlighted (has a dotted line around it and squares at the corners)... then you can reduce font, change colours etc and also click on the small squares on its edge to resize it in all directions. When ready move it on top of a circle and hey presto.. when done, copy both circle and text and make a second circle with text. Them all you have to do is click on the second text box and amend the wording.

Any joy?

BillHadersNewWife · 11/11/2019 20:55

This is like a 10 second job for me in InDesign.

Mummysazmar · 11/11/2019 22:30

Do you still need help with this as my husband is in the print & graphic design trade? X

BillHadersNewWife · 12/11/2019 00:10

Just that's nice for you! I don't have InDesign and thanks to MSmith, I've managed well.

Mummy thank you so much...I think I'm there now! MSmith has been great. Thanks to everyone who helped.

Glad it's worked out ok.

msmith501 · 12/11/2019 17:38

Out of interest and also concerned reading the news... are you near the East coast fires? It sounds horrid and so scary.

BillHadersNewWife · 13/11/2019 03:07

msmith No...thanks for your thoughts though. We're a very long way from them...we're in South Australia. I can't even look at the news at the moment, it's too much. :(
