Aibu to ask what is your starsign?

Just a continuation for me from a conversation I overheard on the train.

I don't believe in horoscopes as such. Well how can one forecast suit so many.

However, starsigns I do believe there is truth in those. I am a Taurus and display all of the Taurus characteristics.
DC are Gemini and Virgo and again seem to display the traits of those signs.

What is your starsign and are you 'typical' of that sign?

Scorpio. Typical Smile

Doodoobear · 10/11/2019 19:04

I'm a 'typical' Leo and DD a 'typical' Virgo, but it may be that we pick up on the things that make sense and ignore the ones that don't?
For example Leo's are loyal but can be arrogant - I can certainly be both of those things, but they're also supposed to have a fantastic thick 'mane' of hair - which I absolutely don't have! I have thin and lank hair despite best attempts!

MrsHardbroom · 10/11/2019 19:05

I'm an 'itsallaloadofbollocks'

Waxonwaxoff0 · 10/11/2019 19:06

I'm Virgo and I'm very much like my star sign. Organised, independent, insensitive at times, no nonsense.

My job reflects my personality too, I'm in admin and do a lot of filing and organising paperwork in the office!

Interestingly, the signs I am apparently most compatible with are fellow earth signs - Virgo, Taurus and Capricorn. My ex husband is Taurus and the last 2 men I've dated were a Virgo and a Capricorn. (Although as the relationships didn't work out there's a lot to be said for that Grin)

churchandstate · 10/11/2019 19:09

I’m a Cancerian. Quite typical in many ways.

LynseyLou1982 · 10/11/2019 19:10

I'm a Libra and I think I have most of the Libra characteristics. My husband is a Gemini and he's the same. Our little boy is a Pisces but it's a bit early to tell with him yet.

UrsulaPandress · 10/11/2019 19:12

Taurus through and through

Daily horoscopes are twaddle but the characteristics of the signs are pretty accurate IMO.

Dd is a Libra. Could not make a decision if she tried.

DH a Virgo. No wastebin in our kitchen.

belay · 10/11/2019 19:13

Look at the native American ones. Very accurate

RibenaMonsoon · 10/11/2019 19:13

Typical Aquarius. I'm the wierd one of the family. In a good way apparently.
We are meant to be geniuses (that's definately not me, although I am reasonably intelligent)
DH is also Aquarian. He's also my perfect match. We 'get' each others weirdness.

Although apparently of all the signs that are meant to rubbish the whole horoscope concept, Aquarius is the one. That's not me, I do believe it has some merit. Although not something to live your life by or anything.
I wonder how many people on here saying 'it's all a load of rubbish' are Aquarians?

DS is a Libra and DD is Cancer. We all rub along just fine Smile

NameChangedForTheDay · 10/11/2019 19:17

S'funny as while I don't believe the horoscopes in papers and magazines, I've always felt that starsigns do perfectly describe the personalities of people I know and I'm also a textbook Cancerian.

The devil's advocate in me has tried to match my personality to the profile of other signs and it's like a square peg in a round hole. Really odd.

My DP is also a textbook Pisces. Wink

Volvemos · 10/11/2019 19:17

Taurus/Gemini cusp. Married to someone who is also Taurus/Gemini cusp. When we are getting on it's amazing. When we fall out I try to go into my Gemini side to avoid two bulls digging their heels in. When we are both being stubborn it is a total impasse.

beckyvardy · 10/11/2019 19:19

@usernames

Here you go

Aibu to ask what is your starsign?
PermanentTemporary · 10/11/2019 19:22

I was an Aries but according to that I'm now a Pisces. I do prefer swimming to wool jumpers, so fair enough.

I used to cast horoscopes as a sixth former so I know it's bollocks. Do they still put them in the papers?? I thought they were done by the work experience kids.

GrumpySausage · 10/11/2019 19:23

I'm a Scorpio and my family often say 'typical scorpio!'.

My dad is a Gemini and is very much a man of two halves.

Saying that my children are Taurus and Gemini and don't fit at all?

EnglishRose13 · 10/11/2019 19:28

I'm now a Sagittarius?!

KateFoster · 10/11/2019 19:31

I'm a cancer and I read once a cancerian will forgive but never forget. That's 100% me

PerfectionistProcrastinator · 10/11/2019 19:33

I’m a Leo and couldn’t be any more opposite.

GreySheep · 10/11/2019 19:35

I don’t believe the 13 star signs as it would mean I’m a Virgo and that’s laughable. I am however a very typical Libra.

Likethebattle · 10/11/2019 19:37

I’m born in the middle of taurus and am very much the typical description of a Taurus even down to throat issues.

Pootle40 · 10/11/2019 19:38

Yes I'm totally a Scorpio. Jealous, stubborn and attracted to the mysterious.

scarecrowfeet · 10/11/2019 19:39

Total control freak and general critical pain in the arse - Virgo to a tee

SilverySurfer · 10/11/2019 19:40

I'm Cancer and I can be crabby.

My DM and DSis were both Taurian and both like bulls in a china shop - never did one thing when they could do ten at once. Sister is still the same.

BellatrixLestat · 10/11/2019 19:41

Sagittarius. No if I'm typical as I've never read anything about it

HermioneWeasley · 10/11/2019 19:46

Like many Leos I’m sceptical about star signs

Iflyaway · 10/11/2019 19:51

Astrology is great. It is a science from way back when (Assyrians).

I believe in it but truth is it has been vilified and hijacked by modernity crap newspapers

The Tuaregs - people of the Sahara desert had their camel trains guided by stars, and still do.

Truth is, there is more between heaven and earth than we can ever know. I like to keep an open mind, while not listening to flat earth bullshitters
