Worried about leaving DH

….for a week while I go four hundred miles away to see our DC.

I shall be gone a week. What will he do? Will I return to find the toilet roll on the wrong way round, as I did the last time I went away? Will I discover that he didn't change the tea towel while I was miles away?

What would you worry about in these circumstances?

(Light-hearted, obviously)

The beyond-saving scourers

I knew there'd be a snag.

There is always a snagGrin!

Well - not abiding by perfectly reasonable bin systems has been shown to be a big cause of discontent between partners.

In fact in Scotland (where I live) the failure by one partner (in 99% of cases the DH) to abide by the bin system is the most common reason for people (99% of women) to seek a divorce.

Talking of bins, I had to give the lid of one of ours a deep clean on Sunday.

DH was in the doghouse.

I gave him the worst bits of meat off the lamb roast as a punishment.

I feel your pain TheMustress similar bin lid blindness here! Excellent punishment, will add to my list of sanctions.

TreacherousPissFlap · 12/11/2019 19:58

DH would scamper around the house placing random items on every available flat surface. When I returned he would look in wounded bemusement as I imploded.

MrsToothyBitch · 13/11/2019 00:52

@TreacherousPissFlap using all available surfaces would def result in less than 5/10 from me!

DF will not be rogue-binning on my watch. I have also promised to make DM a beef ragu for her return. The pressure!

TheMustressMhor · 13/11/2019 03:40

Duh.

I am wide awake. It is 03.39.

DH is asleep, needless too say.

I should not have given him even the manky bits off the lamb roast.

He deserves nothing.

Will he move my crossword puzzle books?

They are in a specific place, which I chose with great care.

I think you'll only be able to relax while you're away if you install CCTV, so you can keep up to date on his novel installation methods for the soft furnishings.

TheMustressMhor · 13/11/2019 06:26

@JamieVardysHavingAParty

I did consider getting CCTV installed but decided against it because they didn't have any which matched my carefully-chosen colour scheme.

I'm sure you can see my dilemma here.

And still DH sleeps

Oh, would he?

Women have required medical treatment for far less.

I vote for CCTV. My friend has it for her elderly mother, and watches from a few hundred miles away. You could shout advise on appropriate household procedures from afar.

TheMustressMhor · 17/11/2019 16:28

Do you know something? He might be improving.

He has just put a new toilet brush attachment on to the old holder.

10/10 for effort.

OP posts:
TheMustressMhor · 17/11/2019 16:29

He did this without being prompted.

I was awe-struck.
