Went out for 'a few' drinks with work friends last night. Turned very messy. I can't really remember getting home, I was very sick and today I feel awful. So annoyed with myself as it's a lovely day and I wanted to go for a long walk and get stuff done but instead I'm lying on the sofa feeling anxious, sick and headachey. I very rarely drink to excess these days and this is why. It's so not worth it.

Anyone else suffering?

Yep. See my other thread.

I’m annoyed at myself as it looks lovely out there and I could have walked the dog, done some shopping ... instead I’m sat feeling sorry for myself feeling sick and guilty

NormaBean · 10/11/2019 11:33

I think you should both try and get out for your walks. There’ll be plenty of bins to vomit into should you need to and it’ll probably take your minds off the hangover.

blackteasplease · 10/11/2019 11:35

Yes me. Got ridiculously drunk and couldn’t get in to my friends house where I am staying because they were still in the pub. Mortified.

TubbyMcTat77 · 10/11/2019 11:52

Feel very guilty and ashamed as dp had to deal with me when I got in. Poor sod. He's been very nice about it but even after several years together I feel very embarrassed about him seeing me in that state. When I was younger most of my Sundays were spent like this but now I absolutely hate the feeling of wasting a day and feeling like this.

Ah you have my support. Been there too often. So often I gave up drinking 18 months ago.

Just look after yourself and drink loads of water!

Iamnotagoddess · 10/11/2019 12:00

I am hungover but didn’t do anything stupid, my friend on the other hand 🙄.

I will walk but later Grin

StCharlotte · 10/11/2019 12:00

Too late now but I dragged myself out to the town's remembrance parade which cleared the head.

Alternatively, a bacon butty and some full fat Coke will see you right.

WonderTweek · 10/11/2019 12:06

I used to be the hangover queen! Get berocca, dioralyte and crisps in you and you'll be right as rain. Full fat coke is always a good idea too. Grin Have naps, watch silly stuff on the TV (How I Met Your Mother was my favourite) and try to ignore the flashbacks. You'll be fine.

Meathmum · 10/11/2019 12:09

My sympathies, i get awful hangovers but if you had a good night feck it! be kind to yourself its only one day of suffering 🤢

Mummadeeze · 10/11/2019 12:13

I really want to give up drinking altogether because I hate hangovers so much but just feel like I can’t go out with work friends and not drink. I only go out once or twice a month but that is two hangovers too many for my liking. I am over it! But when you go ‘out for drinks’ but don’t drink, not sure it would be fun anymore?! I sympathise though for sure.

Auridon4life · 10/11/2019 13:17

Electrolytes, Gatorade or some salt and sugar in some squash.

Stickybeaksid · 10/11/2019 13:59

I’m amazed someone hasn’t been on to tell you how disgusting you are for drinking and how you probably have a drink problem. Best cure for a hangover is a large quarter pounder with cheese McDonald’s meal with a full fat coke or if dodgy tummy then a super split ice pop

TubbyMcTat77 · 10/11/2019 14:44

@Stickybeaksid yes I'm surprised too. I once made the mistake of saying that I have a glass of wine most evenings on here and got lynched and branded an alkie. I don't do that anymore and very rarely binge drink. This is why.

I feel a bit better now but keep getting the dreaded beer fear and have done nothing but lounge about today when there are a million useful things I should have been getting on with. Oh well tomorrow is a new day.
