Namechanged

My son is 16. His ex girlfriend gave birth to his son about 4 months ago.

He was very nice to her and told her she was lying about him being the dad but then he said he didn't care about her or baby and he blocked her number and on social media etc. He also told her I didn't care (not true).

I can't believe he said that to her but what should I do as I do care? And want to see grandson.

No i didn't know she was pregnant. I believed son as I thought he had no reason to lie because he said he was seeing him. Now I know the truth I want to be involved.

Son was saying he wasn't the dad But admitted he is.

Sounds like he's been vile to her. It's her decision at this point if she doesn't want you to see baby that's something you can't change.

If it was your daughter would you want someone who's been so horrible to your child involved?

Maybe send her something, it's taken 4 months to ask the Internet what have you got to lose at this point?

Are you prepared to(assuming a dna test proves paternity) Make your son step up, take on his parental rights or provide any financial support yourself? If not, then don’t expect to be allowed to play the doting grandma role.
