Am taking DD to Lapland to meet santa....would it be bad of me to write her a fake letter from him inviting her to go and visit (she is on the cusp of not believing) and risk pissing off her school friends' parents as obvs not many kids get to do this?

It does seem like a very sweet idea but I can imagine DD going into school and excitedly telling her classmates about this letter. You know what children can be like, some might say she's showing off and there's every chance that someone will tell her Santa isn't real and that she's being 'babyish'. Could take the shine off the visit somewhat.

If you did write the letter, I'm not sure asking her to keep it a secret would work either. She's bound to tell someone and that DC will likely tell someone else and so on. Nor should Santa be asking DD to keep the visit a secret - that is all kinds of wrong.

Yes l agree - think l will just say we are going to the north pole to see if we can find santa. Was going to tell her the day we go but kind of want a bit of a build up to it for a few weeks

How old is dd, might be too old for letters from santa
