To expect a refund from TDLC after an item.has not arrived in 3.5 months

Hi all,

I ordered a summer dress from The Designer Label Company (TDLC),an online fashion retailer, in July.

They gave a delivery time of 10-20 days and it has now been 3.5 months.

They are unable to give me any information other than to apologise and insist it will arrive 'soon'. They have been repeating this since September.

They mentioned something about customs as it is coming from overseas but no further details. In October, they said if it was lost or did not arrive they would refund me.

I now consider the dress undelivered. I have no use for a summer dress in November and feel they should refund me but they are refusing, saying I should continue to wait and return it when it does arrive for a refund. I have pushed back saying I have waited long enough and they haven't given me the policy regarding after how long an item is deemed undelivered.

Should I just continue to wait or is there anything else I can do? Has anyone else ordered from TDLC before? Have the goods actually arrived? The dress was around £45-50 which is not money I can spend on nothing!

YANBU but I’m not sure what you can do about it if they won’t agree to cancellation. Take to SM? (Which you have on here but Twitter apparently elicits some prompt resolution of issues I hear.)

Credit or debit card chargeback?

Muckycat · 06/11/2019 12:43

Thanks Matilda, they don't seem to have Twitter but I will look at other platforms.

Good point, I paid by paypal so they might be able to do something

Open a case with Paypal. They are your best bet for getting your money back.

uk.trustpilot.com/review/thedesignerlabelcompany.co.uk

I'm afraid it appears to be one of those "too good to be true" companies. I nearly got sucked in by one last week because I really liked the item.

FelicityBeedle · 06/11/2019 13:53

Just a heads up that the review you’ve left on trust pilot is obviously you and appears under your real name, you might want to request MN remove the link

Muckycat · 06/11/2019 13:56

Ah bugger thanks felicity I will do so. I tried to edit the review to not show my name but obv it didn't work! Thanks for the advice, all. My bank have been great and agreed a refund subject to email evidence which I am sending in now.

I've deleted the review for now but will reinstate it once the post is taken down

How did you pay?

Curtainly · 06/11/2019 14:08

PayPal are pretty good, unless the company can provide evidence of posting (which is unlikely) you should be able to get it back. I'd open a dispute now to be honest as it can take a little while.

MrsMaiselsMuff · 06/11/2019 14:10

Sorry, missed it was PayPal. Do a claim through them, they'll sort it.

nestisflown · 06/11/2019 14:11

If you've paid with your credit card then I'd pursue it through that route... though the value of the order must be more than £100. If you bought it with PayPal then even better- you can get a refund quite quickly.

nestisflown · 06/11/2019 14:12

Oh sorry for some reason missed your last update too. Good luck getting the refund OP

Can anybody give me an address for TDLC please? A returns address even. I am in the same boat but cannot report them to trading standards without an address of the company and their website does not show any address. Thanks
