WIBU to get a babysitter?

DD starts school next year. Went to visit one school that I was really keen on and hated it, decided not to apply for a place there, at least not first choice, so glad we looked round (DD came with me). The other school we're near to won't let us take the children to visit the school when we have a tour, which is fine, friend said she'd have DD as its my one week off and only time I could go. She's let me down, again not a big deal and not her fault but is it worth paying for a babysitter for the morning? Everyone else I know is working, it's not serious enough for them to take time off for anyway, is it that important that you view a potential school or should I just call up and cancel my slot?

Yes get a babysitter if you're not allowed to take DC with you.

It's a no-brainer really. Just get a babysitter Smile

A school that doesn’t want children to attend?!....doesn’t sound great!

Of course get a sitter!

@feeona123 it's odd isn't it? Never heard of a school doing this before.

Turns out it's much harder to find a babysitter for a morning than I thought, at least not without paying £25 to sign up to childcare.co.uk to message anyone! May have to give it a miss

Are they not at pre school? Can you book an extra session?

Alternatively put a fb shout out for a childminder, I’ve seen a few similar posts where a childminder is happy to take a child for a one off. x

@feeona123 no she doesn't go to preschool no, but her old childminder has kindly agreed to have her for the morning thankfully, so all sorted!

That's so weird. Tbh I'd just turn up with DD. It's not like it's an environment unsuitable for children.
