I work in Property Management and the sheer amount of Leaseholders who do not understand the fire strategy of their building is scary.

That was worth the read. Thanks for the link xx

Please ignore the xx

No problem, it’s long but definitely worth a read!

That's a really interesting read. Thanks for sharing.

It is definitely worth a read and has lots of food for thought. I have always thought London Fire Service were harshly judged, despite going above and beyond

LakieLady · 05/11/2019 19:37

Excellent article. Someone should make Martin Moore-Bick read it. And Jacob Rees-Mogg.

AlaskanBush · 05/11/2019 19:41

A very interesting read. Thanks for sharing.

hazell42 · 05/11/2019 19:42

I have not read the article.
I dont intend to.
I am fully capable of empathising with the victims and their families without wallowing in the detail.
If I was a landlord, a councillor or a fireman, I would.
But I think yabu to think 'everyone' should read it. That's like gawping at a traffic accident or checking Auschwitz off your bucket list.
Tacky and disrespectful

ChilledBee · 05/11/2019 19:46

This is a year old and the inquest proves that the opinions are wrong. Nice article but full of crap and exposes why the firefighters gave such bad advice. I'm sure cuts have contributed too but they were ignorant.

Corna · 05/11/2019 19:47

That is an excellent article, honestly written about a tragedy that should never have happened. The Lakhanal house fire was a warning to the authorities and the government that they needed to act. It was ignored and more people died. There have been many tower block fires over the decades and action has never been properly taken.
Now of course we see the toffs in charge neatly blaming the mostly working class fire fighters who risk their lives for ours.

Well worth reading. Thanks for sharing it

OverUnderSidewaysDown · 05/11/2019 19:50

Excellent article full of useful information.

@hazell42 it’s not disrespectful to find out FACTS. Facts are what enable us to know the truth about Auschwitz (to use your own example) and to defeat, for example, the Holocaust deniers. I find your attitude quite offensive.

FuzzyPuffling · 05/11/2019 20:02

I found that very thought-provoking. Thank you.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 05/11/2019 20:04

hazell you've got completely the wrong end of the stick there, and have embarrassed yourself a little tbh.
