My DS is 3 and has fairly regular tantrums, over all sorts of things, probably a few everyday. Sometimes small tantrums that only last a few minutes but sometimes up to 20 minutes....I thought this was standard toddler behaviour and have been living in hope that it will improve when he is a bit older.
However, I read this article today:
www.babycentre.co.uk/a1040560/tantrums
My concern is this paragraph:
If, after the age of 30 months, your child is still having major tantrums every day, talk to your health visitor or GP. If your child is younger than 30 months, has three or four tantrums a day, and isn't cooperating with any routines, such as getting dressed or picking up toys, you may also want to seek help. Your health visitor or doctor can make sure your child has no serious physical or psychological problems, and suggest ways to deal with the outbursts.
My DS is 36 months, AIBU to think it’s still normal to have a few tantrums every day, and that he doesn’t always want to get dressed, tidy up or do anything I ask him?! Or am I supposed to be speaking to a HV / GP about it?
