Fluoxetine

Sorry posting for traffic.

I started taking fluoxetine in may due to low moods. At first i had no side effects and felt much better in myself until about August time, where I experienced my first ever panic attack. I now constantly feel on the verge of an attack and sometimes they happen without much warning. Is this normal?

I spoke to my doctor who said maybe I should just wean off them but when I tried it really made my moods become erratic. I’m starting to wish I hadn’t took them because I feel I’m in a worse position now than to previously to taking them.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips to help?

I can tell you my own experience but don't know if it's a common one! Took fluoxetine on and off for about 8 years and felt it helped then recently started getting very anxious - had always just felt depressed the anxiety was new. Came off fluoxetine and onto duloxetine. Still felt crap. Now on sertraline and feeling better - not amazing but definitely better & no longer anxious.

I think it’s an individual thing as it helps with my anxiety, however I was told it was for short term depressive episodes rather than long term use?

I dunno but it’s the only thing I can take with lithium anyway
