To hate having big boobs?

I have always had a large-ish bosom, I was a 32E for a long time, on a small frame, I was a small size 10 I'd say, those were the days and then I had children (now onto my fourth pregnancy) DD1 is 16 months and I'm 19 weeks pregnant (DS1 was stillborn May '17 & had a miscarriage this year in Jan).

My boobs are now enormous. Prior to this latest pregnancy they were a 34GG/H and I'd be a 12/14 clothes size. I am now struggling to keep contained in my current comfortable bras Sad

Sleeping is becoming a nightmare, I like to sleep on my front normally but I've got so much boob it's uncomfortable without scooping them up and rearranging them several times in the night. Last night I was awake far more than I was asleep as I was just so uncomfortable. I get back ache a lot too which is probably a combination of them and carrying toddler DD around plus pregnancy aches and pains.

I'm also at that stage of pregnancy where I don't quite have a full/obvious baby bump, just look a bit podgy. That teamed with enormous breasts is really making me look like a beach ball with legs and I have to say it's getting me down a little.
All my clothes look terrible, I have no shape, I'm just round. I'm finding most high street clothes I have to size up to accommodate my boobs so there is no shape to the rest of the garment because it's just too big. I feel as though I look very broad up top and out of proportion.

Finding bras big enough is also an absolute mission. I sometimes wish I could just nip in Primark and pick up a 2 pack for £10 instead of having to trawl through shops that stock the largest of sizes to find that either don't have my size or if they do it's £50 a bra Sad

I'm seriously considering something surgical after we have finished having children as they are just getting out of hand literally.

Does any have any tips of where to shop for clothes that will make me look like a woman and not a ball with legs?

Just to add, DH is quite happy with their gargantuan size but agrees that my happiness more important and supports me in the idea of having them reduced/lifted if that's what I decide to do.

Finally, I know better than anyone how lucky I am to be pregnant with this baby and I am not knocking that at all - I am knocking the overly generous helping of boob I have been given Shock

All tips, sympathy, ideas welcome Smile

I feel your pain OP. I’m a size 10/12 and wear a 30H or double HH bra. Before being pregnant I was an E or F cup so I’ve always had a largish chest.
Perhaps I’m just used to my shape now but I don’t think I look unusually out of proportion for my 5’ 3” frame. Despite the size of my bras, I have jumpers and tops that range in size from XS to M and anything bigger than a size 12 dress swamps me. I tend to avoid tops that button down the front because sometimes they gape, and I don’t go near anything that is very tight fitting (mainly because of my spare tyre) or low cut because I’m not a fan seeing a lot of cleavage on anyone, never mind me.
I’ve shopped for bras at Bravissimo for as long as I can remember and wore their maternity bras during all my pregnancies and breast feeding. After my last baby I eventually lost all the weight I had put on but nothing came off my chest, and my bra size is the same now as it was then. What did thankfully disappear was the extra sensitivity that came with pregnancy and I have no problem now letting everything just hang out when sleeping. Others in my family swear by Bravissimo’s sleep bras or their vest tops with inbuilt support.
My bra of choice nowadays is Bravissimo’s Melrose - it’s the most boring one in the world but I find it comfortable, it gives me a good shape and I don’t fall out of it when bending down. Over the years I’ve wasted so much money on bras that seem to fit when I’m in the changing room but don’t stand the test of wearing all day that nowadays I just stick to what I know. For some reason the black one comes up small so I go up a cup size - hence the H and double H.
I’ve just had a quick google on the Bravissimo website and there are several underwired bras in their sale in larger cup sizes - they also have a much better selection of nonwired bras than they used to have. Some of these go up to a j cup but are not in the sale.

Are you me?! If it’s any consolation, I’ve now finished having babies / BF and my comedy clown boobs (as I affectionately called them) have shrunk back down to a slightly deflated 32E - and feel perfectly manageable - quite small even! 😂 and all the back pain has gone. So there is light at the end of the tunnel Flowers

OP I could have written a lot of your opening post. Ds 10 weeks old, was a size 8 and 30d or DD pre-pregnancy. Piled on 3.5 stone during pregnancy despite staying active and chest increased to 32j now I'm breastfeeding. Some of the weight's coming off apart from around the chest. I'm 5'2 so they look grotesque and comical in equal measure. 😯
I looked better in pregnancy in fitted clothes with adjustable side ties that showed some semblance of a waist.
Properly fitting bras will make you look and feel more streamlined. Seraphine clothes (no affiliation) seemed to look the most flattering on me.
Wishing you a happy and healthy rest of your pregnancy, boobs aside.

I had a Breast Reduction on the NHS twelve years ago in my mid twenties. It made a huge difference to my life! Honestly all the problems associated with giant boobs just went away. It's great, I still feel lucky, I'm still grateful. I had problems breastfeeding, but managed to combination feed for a year with my first child.

KimchiLaLa · 03/11/2019 21:56

I fucking hate mine, they are 36DD, and look ridiculous on me. I am scared of how big they will get if I get pregnant again.

I also have the issue of having to size up in tops to fit them in. I was a 34D pre pregnancy and I miss them, even though I thought they were big then!!

WinterRose92 · 03/11/2019 21:56

I come from a family of big boobed ladies. Mine are big, especially after having my 2nd child 9 weeks ago, and I’m currently breastfeeding. But not to the point of giving me awful backache, I sometimes get a mild bit of backache but nothing I worry about.
My Aunts were huge, I’m not sure how big (this was when I was a toddler) but they were causing her an awful lot of back pain and generally making her miserable. In the end she had a reduction and said it was the best decision she ever made.
If you can afford it, go for it. I don’t think you’ll regret it if this is how you’re feeling now.

These are how threads should be, a very pleasant change. A problem, humour, good advice, kindness, empathy and understanding.
I’ve had a reduction- if it’s getting you down, it’s

Don't you need a medical reason to have it
On the NHS? Not being arsey, just interested

MilfordFound · 03/11/2019 22:10

@Kimchilala Yes I had back problems, was having physio etc. I'd tried for a number of years before I was accepted on the waiting list. Although for me I found all the other issues and indignities associated with big boobs to be more difficult than the back pain. The back pain was way down on the list for me, but it was the main requirement in terms of qualifying for the op.

RuggyPeg · 03/11/2019 22:28

I've had a reduction. It was very straightforward and really not painful. Uncomfortable for a while yes but not painful. A lift is an intrinsic part of the procedure. Best thing I ever did. I'm not numb either. Quite the opposite infact, which is a nice little bonus!! Several years later, mine still look incredible. I often look down on them and think wow, they're awesome 😆

TheLolaMontez · 03/11/2019 22:43

I just want to echo what @UniversallyUnchallenged has said and to say thank you all for being so kind! It really has made me feel a bit better to know I'm not the only lady out there suffering with enormous breasticles Smile

I guess all I can do is see how they look after baby is born and once they've settled down again. Hoping for an E cup Wink

I do feel like there is some light at the end of the tunnel now though. Great to hear everyone's experiences Smile

I was 30F, 5'3 and 10 stone and, whilst not massive, my boobs made me look bigger than I was.
I lost 2 stone and I am now 28FF but my boobs are actually a lot smaller than the sizing would suggest and suit me better.

I know you can't lose weight now and it may not be an option later but I just wanted to empathise with you. Also to say, a friend had a reduction about a year after her third baby as she hated how big they had become.

TheLolaMontez · 03/11/2019 22:57

I have lost weight after previous pregnancies and as per other posters, I don't lose anything from my boobs, they just stay there, in all their massive glory!

DeadDoorpost · 03/11/2019 23:08

Before DS I was a 36E and now with DD 2 years later I'm a 40F. So not a massive change, but just as uncomfortable. DH loves them, but also fully understands just how heavy they are after feeling their weight. I also have major back and neck problems, probably caused by them.

I'm breastfeeding DD though so they're not going to shrink any time soon.

Orangeblossom78 · 04/11/2019 09:59

It seems the NHS have different rules on reduction for each CCG- / area, I checked and ours says needs to have some kind of 'exceptional' reason for having it done...so maybe it depends. I would like to have it done but not sure could afford it. I wonder how much difference using weight makes not sure it is that much. Mine seems to be genetic.

bethany39 · 04/11/2019 11:08

Asos do a small range of tops for fuller bust - I have a couple of the camisole type tops (I'm a 28GG) and they are much roomier than the standard ones.

Another vote for Brastop too - they have good sales and you can filter by size so find the sale items available in your size.
