I'm feeling really down about life the universe and everything and really angry about the way I'm being treated at work w no respect. All in all I am miserable.

Where I am its pouring with rain, I can't leave my house easily without major inconvenience as there a big event near me, lots of crowds and all roads are closed. I can't even get food delivered as they wont deliver because the roads are closed.

Other than a cup of tea or hard liquor, how can I cheer myself up? Should I brave it and go out somewhere?

Any funny films to recommend on Neflix or Amazon?

Good book, pjs and cozy socks

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 02/11/2019 14:08

Light a smelly candle and watch mindless TV.

AdaColeman · 02/11/2019 14:10

Tea & biscuits. Cheerful music to have a bop and a sing-along to. Spray of your favourite perfume.

SmileEachDay · 02/11/2019 14:11

Go for a run/walk in the rain - 20 mins will do it. Run/walk as far as you can in one direction for 10 mins then turn round and do the same back.

I promise you will feel amazing. Then do a tidy up (I’m always super motivated after a run) then a bath. Then films/books.

If you have a cat and a laser pen, hours of fun guaranteed.

Audio book. Ask Alexa to fart. Watch Bosch on Amazon Prime. Watch videos of cats and dogs at Christmas with snow, Christmas trees, presents etc.

Nunyabusiness · 02/11/2019 14:11

YouTube The Walker by Fitz and the Tantrums. Instant happiness. I've never heard it and not felt jolly.

Vulpine · 02/11/2019 14:15

I'da thought not being able to leave the house because of a 'major inconvenience' would be more akin to being in a wheel chair rather than its just a bit busy outside.Hmm

Sadsadblueface · 02/11/2019 14:19

Thanks for all the great ideas. I don't have a cat sadly.

@Vulpine - it's not that its "a bit busy", its masses of people all moving one way in a funneled area and I would have to be going against the tidal flow. If you have a fear of crowd crush its a actually frightening to be moving the other way Ive had that experience before and its shit scary and I wouldnt do it again.

Do you have a library card?
If so you might well be able to borrow ebooks from your local library. I can from mine and can either read them on my phone or transfer them to my e-reader.

I know what you mean about being stuck in. I’ve been out this morning but the wind and rain were shocking. Also, a major road is closed and all traffic has been diverted meaning that there is no way to get anywhere by car.

triptrapdollydumpling · 02/11/2019 14:20

Christmas 24!

Chocolatecake12 · 02/11/2019 14:23

Bake! I’ve made sausage tolls this morning and flapjacks are baking now. I’m toying with the idea Of a lemon drizzle too but I’m on a weight loss thread too........it’s cheering me up on a miserable rainy Saturday though!!
Oh and I’m listening to rubbishy pop songs from my youth Blush

Find the American sitcom Raising Hope (Hulu and You Tube etc.) and watch every episode. You will feel like the most virtuous competent parent ever if you are a parent and fully schooled on what not to do if you are not a yet a parent.

I'm old but currently enjoying 1982 POTPs on r2. Always cheers me upSmile

Do you like doing crafts or baking?

Nunyabusiness · 02/11/2019 14:45

@Sadsadblueface they also sing the song that's on the Argos adverts, the one that goes 'oh, oh, oh'

Livebythecoast · 02/11/2019 14:59

I'm watching my sun loungers break dance round the garden in this horrific wind (on the coast) - I don't want to go out there and get whipped away to Kansas city. Grin
I do have a cat and a laser pen - great fun - even she won't go outside in this wind and rain - she's nearly going boss eyed as I think she needs the litter tray which I'm selfishly sitting by in the kitchen and she won't poo in front of me - I should move really

Lj8893 · 02/11/2019 15:03

I’m intrigued as to what the event is!

Online shopping always cheers me up Grin
Failing that, list making, you can write lists for anything you like and the satisfaction as you get them ticked off is soooo good!

SuperMeerkat · 02/11/2019 15:09

I’ve been re-watching Footballers Wives on YouTube. Desperate Housewives is also good for a giggle.

Foghead · 02/11/2019 15:14

Put some loud music on and dance like a crazy woman. That should release some pent up emotions.

Then make some nice food and watch some comedy films.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 02/11/2019 15:18

Listen to the Off Menu podcast. There are loads of back episodes and it is truly hilarious.

Candace19 · 02/11/2019 15:48

Masturbate....always cheers me up Smile
