AIBU Leaving Mess for Cleaners

Inspired by another thread, but I don’t get why it’s bad form to leave a messy kitchen for hired cleaners? I think it was she had a baking session with the kids and left the whole mess for the cleaner.

Surely this all depends more what you’d like your cleaner to get down to? For instance, if I need deep cleaning, I wouldn’t want them to waste time doing my dishes, but otherwise, I just don’t get it if you are paying fairly for their time? AIBU?

It's your money and you can spend it how you like at the end of the day, but on the whole people pay for a set amount of time and generally for the cleaner to do the whole house you would expect to have cleared away most of the 'mess' so they can get on with the actual cleaning. Kitchen wise I would make sure the dishwasher has been on at a minimum so the dirty things can go in and get turned on rather than having to do two loads

I think you’re right; they’re at your house for however long and I don’t want mine spending her time stacking the dishwasher compared to washing the kitchen floor but then mine comes every fortnight. If she came 3 times a week then I’d probably feel differently.
I do think it’s important to set our expectations at the beginning; if a cleaner feels washing up isn’t something they should do and that’s what you want then they’re not the right person.

Wish someone would tell one of my customers this. They don't even flush the fucking loo before I come!!!
