Shout out to MN's Jilly Cooper fans - I think I might have walked past her old house today...

I know I'm not the only JC fan on here...Today's leaflet job was near Putney Common, where she lived in the 70s (The Common Years is still one of my favourite books of hers).My route actually took me to the Ranelagh Estate, so her house MUST have been somewhere nearby in one of the naicer streets.I spent the second half of the shift amusing myself by trying to work out which one it might have been.

I am excited too! I worked in a really tough, unglamorous rough sleepers night shelter but worked with another Jilly fan. We would often share a a little Jilly fantasy to get us through a bleak shift. Six years on we still race to send the first of May poem to each other!

I once looked up from a charity shop rail in Stroud and JC was opposite me. It didn’t click at first so I smiled as usual then halfway down the road I was like Ooooooooo!

I did actually get a letter from her once but it was addressed to one of my less-used pseudonyms rather than me (she had a habit of writing a note to anyone who ever reviewed any of her books, which I rather admire even now.)
