To go to bed at 8pm

I’m 15 weeks pregnant. Tonight I came home from work, had a quick dinner with DH and am now in bed chilling. I’m tired and there’s nothing on telly anyway.

About 10 minutes ago DH had a mini moan that it’s Friday night and I should come down so we can be together, but honestly all I want to do is relax and read MN under a nice warm duvet. Am I being reasonable or do I need to make more effort?

Go to bed and enjoy the rest, once baby comes it won't be as easy.
12 weeks with my second and resting whenever I can. We have to look after ourselves. X

Shoxfordian · 01/11/2019 20:28

You're totally reasonable to stay in bed

Cuddlysnowleopard · 01/11/2019 20:28

Stay in bed!

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 01/11/2019 20:30

I go to bed around that time not infrequently and I don't have children/not pregnant.

Early nights are a thing of joy in adulthood!

SgtFredColon · 01/11/2019 20:32

I got in at 7.20pm. Not pregnant or tired just wanted to be cosy. DH just brought me tea and biscuits 😊

MsChatterbox · 01/11/2019 20:32

I am pregnant and last night I was asleep at 7pm! Tonight I was watching Netflix with hubby and saw it was past 8 and I said wow its late I need to get to bed. If he wants to spend time with you he can come to bed too! You are growing a human!

ThebishopofBanterbury · 01/11/2019 20:34

I hate to be the cow to say it, but enjoy sleep while you can! Wink

AutumnalLeaves38 · 01/11/2019 20:35

You are being unreasonable for not working your way through a fancy box of chocolates too!

Enjoy your rest, OP.
Early night, all warm and cosy, sounds very sensible to me.

daffodilbrain · 01/11/2019 20:35

No, enjoy it all whilst you can....

OlderthenYoungerNow · 01/11/2019 20:37

I'm 37 weeks and tucked up in bed. Worked my last day before maternity leave today and can't keep my eyes open. Do what you've got to do!

notangelinajolie · 01/11/2019 20:39

DH has worked nights and fairly unsociable hours the whole of our married life (30 years) and one of the best bits when I was pregnant with DC1 was waving him off to work at 7pm, putting on my PJ's and snuggling up in bed with a good book.

Do it OP - early nights are the best Smile

20viona · 01/11/2019 20:40

Absolutely stay in bed! Tell
Him
He can join you if he's willing to
Be silent lol.

blahblahblahblahhh · 01/11/2019 20:46

Nope when I was pregnant some nights I went to bed at 7pm!

utterlybutterly8 · 01/11/2019 20:51

Glad to hear I’m NBU! I feel a bit less guilty about DH downstairs on his lonesome now!

CycleWoman · 01/11/2019 20:52

I’m 17 weeks and only just in the last week managed to stay up until 9pm! Frost couple of months I was well asleep by 8pm.

Go for it!

LoveMySituation · 01/11/2019 20:55

I'm perimenopausal OP, and at the moment, I consider even 8pm a late night GrinWink As others have said, enjoy it while you can Brew

fluffedupferretonsteroids · 01/11/2019 20:55

Me and my partner have a 1 year old and I'm 26 weeks pregnant, we both go to bed regularly at half 7 Grin stay in bed and enjoy your rest

IfWishesWereFishes · 01/11/2019 20:57

My first pregnancy I was so exhausted I came home from work and went straight to bed to watch tv - reading made me sick.

DH would bring me plain pasta; I couldn't stand the smell of whatever he was eating.

I was a LOT of fun Grin

You're building a human, cell by cell. Do what the fuck you want, you rock!

PhilCornwall1 · 01/11/2019 21:23

I'm not pregnant (it's impossible I think Hmm) but will often go to bed early. I've got severe Rheumatoid Arthritis and find I'm exhausted come the evening. My wife doesn't mind, as she puts it "she can watch her crap in peace that's in the Sky planner".

SimonJT · 01/11/2019 21:26

My boyfriend isn’t pregnant 😂 but he’s been asleep for about half an hour.

If you’re tired you’re tired, there’s no right or wrong time to go to bed.

Toooldtobearsed2 · 01/11/2019 21:34

I am 54 and ermmmm not pregnant.

I bloody love my bed, 8pm ? Phh, thats a bit late to join the party.

I love my bed. Can eat chocolate, mumsnet, midsummer murders and relax all at the same time

utterlybutterly8 · 01/11/2019 21:35

Sadly I don’t have a TV in my bedroom. I’m missing a trick!

OP posts:
Lsquiggles · 01/11/2019 21:41

I went to bed at 8pm throughout my entire pregnancy and let me tell you, sitting here now with my 4 month old I would kill to be able to go to bed that early now Grin enjoy the rest!

Toooldtobearsed2 · 01/11/2019 21:43

Oh @35utterlybutterly8 get a tv in your bedroom now!

Ot is essential!

Toooldtobearsed2 · 01/11/2019 21:45

How could you get pregnant and not KNOW this?
