To think dressing kids the night before in the next day clothes is lazy?

Just read it in the paper and I think "how fucking lazy can you be"
It states it's because it suits her life right now. She has 2 young kids- so do I but I have them fed. Up and washed and changed by 8/8.30 of a morning I don't see the problem?
I couldn't imagen going out in clothes I'd slept in an not having a shower to wake myself up an feel clean! Specially my DD hair if it's not washed if a morning she looks like she's been hit by a hurricane and nothing. I mean NOTHING sorts that shit out other then a proper shampoo and condition!!
Takes 10 mins to wash dress and sort 2 kids out if you put effort into it I just get up half an hour earlier to get myself ready then by the time I'm done I hear them slowly rise....
. Have your clothes ready the night before obviosuly but that's it. Imagen going out in creased sweaty clothes you'd slept in?? What on earth or am I missing something ?

Who? What?

AWaspOnAWindowReturns · 31/10/2019 21:11

Each to their own...

MamaRaisingBoys · 31/10/2019 21:13

I agree! So lazy.

Although I don’t was my kids hair in the morning so it doesn’t look as nice as it could, but they are clean and tidy in fresh clean clothes and I think that’s basics that shouldn’t be compromised on really

Disfordarkchocolate · 31/10/2019 21:14

It's grim. Poor kids, now everyone knows you go to school in last nights crumpled clothes.

BarrenFieldofFucks · 31/10/2019 21:16

Yeah, sleeping in your clothes is not on.

ActualHornist · 31/10/2019 21:17

It’s fucking weird is what it is.

I don’t shower my kids every morning though, they go through the wash a couple of times a week or more if smelly.

PivotPivotPivottt · 31/10/2019 21:17

Agree its lazy. I may or may not have done this myself though aged 18/19. Going on a night out coming home and putting my work clothes on and going to sleepBlush.

cushioncovers · 31/10/2019 21:18

Yeah it's lazy.

BanKittenHeels · 31/10/2019 21:19

Link?

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 31/10/2019 21:19

I didn't know people actually did that. I have slept in day clothes before if they are comfy and warm, but I wouldn't then wear them out. I don't understand what is to be gained from not just laying the clothes out for the next day Halloween Confused

Likethebattle · 31/10/2019 21:19

It is rank. You need to wash and out in fresh clothing each morning.

@Sweetpeach3 have you tried putting your daughters hair in a plait overnight. I have very fine tangly hair and it is a nightmare to brush. Every night my mum would brush my hair and then loosely plait it. It was much easier to brush each day.

Letthemysterybe · 31/10/2019 21:20

Weird. I couldn’t get my two ready in 10 minutes, and I would struggle to persuade them to get in the shower in the morning, but I would never consider getting putting them in the next days clothes rather than their pjs. So strange.

Yellowjammer · 31/10/2019 21:20

How on earth do you wash (and presumably dry) hair, wash and dress in 10 minutes?!

My DD has started dressing herself for her early morning dance class the night before. I don’t really approve but it makes things a bit smoother in the morning. I wouldn’t let her do it for school

Rainycloudyday · 31/10/2019 21:20

Who is this about?!

AppleKatie · 31/10/2019 21:20

It’s not lazy so much as odd. I mean you have to do exactly the same set of actions but to do it at night rather than the morning is bizarre.

SimonJT · 31/10/2019 21:21

It’s happened, there’s a parent lazier than me, I didn’t think it was possible.

The only time I have slept in clothes is when I used to run in the morning, I would sleep in my running gear so all I had to do in the morning was put my trainers on.

TheGlaikitRambler · 31/10/2019 21:21

Kids sweat in the night, those clothes must get smelly and gross.

Bluewavescrashing · 31/10/2019 21:22

I used to do it when my baby went to nursery. Bath in the evening, dressed in leggings and a soft top, put to bed. Woke at 6. 30am, changed nappy, gave milk, out of the door at 7am,into nursery at 7.45 for breakfast club.

In my defence, the clothes were basically pyjamas, baby didn't care what she looked like and she was bathed daily and put into clean clothes at bedtime.

cheeseislife8 · 31/10/2019 21:23

@PivotPivotPivottt I may possibly have also done this in my youth...

Regularly? No. For the kids? Hell no

Howisitparentseveningagain · 31/10/2019 21:23

Obviously haven't read the article, but for some reason I find this quite upsettingSad Surely this isn't putting your kids first? How can you feel OK about it? Quite aside from the fact that a) you wouldn't do it for yourself and b) kids sweat (DS has just turned one and sweats like a beast if he's too warm at night time. What are you teaching your kids?

BarrenFieldofFucks · 31/10/2019 21:23

A baby is very different

SallyAnne89 · 31/10/2019 21:24

Wow that is actually so lazy. Wouldn't your kids smell of sweat and wee and all that sleep funk?

iolaus · 31/10/2019 21:25

Do you mean, when getting them ready for bed dressing them in the clothes they will wear tomorrow? cos thats just weird (and rank)

However if you mean they are staying at their grandparents tonight so I'll send them in the clothes to wear tomorrow and they'll wear pyjamas to sleep - but I won't have the inevitable 'I left my jumper at home' issue then it's kind of genius (but send clean knickers)

LizzieMacQueen · 31/10/2019 21:25

Which paper was this in @Sweetpeach3? Is it about some celeb?

BrieAndChilli · 31/10/2019 21:26

Day clothes are nowhere near as comfy as pjs u less you wear a T-shirt and joggers every day.
Pjs are more breathable too. Kids especially can see a little in the night, not make it to the toilet in time and also spill cereal down their tops and toothpaste etc etc
The only time I’ve gone around in clothes I’ve slept in is when camping in the middle of nowhere and it’s too cold to contemplate removing any clothes and I’m not going anywhere except to collect firewood etc!!
