On the card to accompany my mother's flowers for her funeral next week??? I know that sounds awful - she was my amazing mum, but when it comes to these sorts of messages, I have no words....

Some people are poetic and amazing - are any of you out there, and can you give me some inspiration?!

You don't need to be poetic - just be honest - that will be far more powerful than fancy clever words. Say what you feel, that she was an amazing mother, you were so lucky to have her and will love her always. Just say what you truly feel.

I'm not good at these things either but when my twin died I wrote on her card:

"My love will fly to you each night on angel's wings."

I'm sorry for your loss.

"My amazing mum" sounds a pretty good thing to write. Flowers

'As in life, you know what is in my heart and I in yours. No other words are needed x'

If tears could build a stairway and thoughts a memory lane. I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

anotherday4 · 30/10/2019 21:55

I'm sorry for your loss ❤️

I honestly think your own words that honestly say what you feel are worth so much more than ready made poems written by someone else.

MrsMaiselsMuff · 31/10/2019 15:49

Use your own words Dolly, far better than some pithy poem. What you said in your OP is perfect.
