mince pie sandwich? with CHEESE? Envy

mamandematribu · 30/10/2019 19:17

Eugh! That sounds 🤮
I shall skip, sorry op

SmileEachDay · 30/10/2019 19:18

Does it have pastry?

Mince pies are rank, but people do eat them with cheese. The cheese is the least weird bit of that item IMO.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 30/10/2019 19:19

Mince pie sandwich with cheese? How does that even work?!
I mean I love mince pies and I love cheese, but together?!
Um.... sounds weird lol
Although I'm up for eating anything once Grin

DaisyDando · 30/10/2019 19:20

Do you think it might be cheese with a fruity chutney? I like cheese with Christmas cake. (Northern.)

ACupOfTeaSolvesEverything · 30/10/2019 19:24

Cheese and mince pies/Christmas cake is a lush combo. I’d deffo try it if there was a Morrison’s round here

holidays987 · 30/10/2019 19:28

Oo I'd be up for trying it. Haven't see it in our local Morrisons though.

BarbourellaTheCoatzilla · 30/10/2019 19:29

Wait, Christmas Mince Pies or Meat Mince Pies?

BarbourellaTheCoatzilla · 30/10/2019 19:31

The sandwich is filled with a mince pie-inspired chutney, creamy cheddar cheese, crumbly Wensleydale, and sits inside a fruity panettone style bread roll. In a press release, Morrisons called it the “mince pie Christmas sandwich”, but its name on the packaging is “Wensleydale and spiced fruit chutney.”

So it's not really a mince pie sandwich is it. I expected pastry and all.

NegroniOnIce · 30/10/2019 19:35

I was expecting finely sliced mince pie with a decent punchy cheddar! The sort of thing you think is a good idea when you've had one glass too many at Christmas!

greyspottedgoose · 30/10/2019 19:39

I'm going to make a mince pie & cheese sandwich tomorrow when my shop comes, sweet and savoury together 😍

BeanBag7 · 30/10/2019 19:41

Mince pie inspired chutney and cheese.
Not the same as mince pie sandwich. I was expecting a literal mince pie - pastry and all - mashed up and spread on bread.

AwkwardSquad · 30/10/2019 19:44

Mince pie and Wensleydale is really nice. Not sure about it in a sandwich, though...

saraclara · 30/10/2019 19:46

Mince pie and Wensleydale or Cheshire is an amazing combo. I very rarely eat a mince pie without cheese.

Getoffmylilo · 30/10/2019 19:47

I had apple pie and cheese once and that was very very wrong, even though apples and cheese, nice and pastry and cheese, nice. But then camembert and cranberry sauce sandwiches are excellent. Christmas used to be much easier than this. (except those Christmas Tree flavour crisps from Iceland last year)

It sounds divine!

managedmis · 30/10/2019 19:49

It's just a rumour

victorioussponges · 30/10/2019 19:50

Can't see that being too different from cheese and (sweet) pickle! Mmmmm 🥰

tigger001 · 30/10/2019 19:51

Someone really needs to go to their local Morrisons and give us a review, tonight 😂😂😂😂 (joking obviously )

I don't like mince pies but cheese makes everything taste better, my DH loves mince pies, sandwiches and cheese. We don't have a Morrisons locally but I may go on the hunt.

AdaColeman · 30/10/2019 19:55

I like cheese (Wensleydale) with Christmas cake, so the fruity chutney & cheese sandwich sounds grand to me. I like that sweet/savoury flavour combination.

idontdance · 30/10/2019 19:56

It sounds revolting

FortunaMajor · 30/10/2019 20:20

No, no, no! You've all got it wrong.

Mince pie
Cheese
Mince pie

In a stack. Just like that. That is a proper mince pie and cheese sandwich. None of this bread malarkey.

Amateurs. Hmm

CeeCeeEnnEss · 30/10/2019 20:21

It’s definitely not a rumour!

CeeCeeEnnEss · 30/10/2019 20:22

Also it’s delicious.

PinkpompomDaisy · 30/10/2019 20:33

So sweet mince ?
I was expecting a beef mince pie, with a slice of cheese inside a bread bun ( roll)
