Not for the first time, he is stumbling through an interview this evening.

Love Jon Snow. I will genuinely cry when he retires and I am generally quite cynical. Watching Channel 4 news is a daily ritual for me and has been since I was a teenager the 1980s. I love how it's always been a 'proper' news programme that does segments of news from all over the world and holds people to account with regard to things like Grenfell. I think it says everything that only recently BJ refused to be interviewed by Channel 4 News, they don't pull any punches and will dig away for months when they get a whiff of something rotten.

So Jon can stumble a bit with the autocue all he likes as far as I'm concerned as he's still head and shoulders above a lot of journalists and news presenters.

I have to add I really was joking about being ‘past it’; he’s still a great broadcaster. I’m still just annoyed about him walking out in front of our car without looking with his litter picker and rubbish bag and almost causing an accident!!

I saw this and in my opinion, I'm sorry to say I thought he has early dementia. It was the way he pauses before saying ... the leader of. He's being doing that job for a long time and the nature of the mistake is so huge. My grandfather had dementia and looking back the first signs of it were this type of thing. Remember most of the time he is in a studio with auto cue and a pre-prepared script.
