Sick to death of the cocklodging bastards!

Apologies for the dramatic thread title.

Yes, it's started to get cold outside, but every time I step into a room in my house, there's a new one of the free loading little fuckers!

I have the day off and I'm just doing an online shop. I picked the laptop up to take into another room, and one decides to abseil merrily down the middle of the door frame. CF stopped briefly to eyeball me, before continuing his jolly quest to find a lady love.

Then I get DD shouting 'Mummy, there's a bug in the bathroom' it's nearly always when I'm just about to go to bed. Yes, I should catch it humanely and release it somewhere. Or leave it be. But I can't. I'm tired and I don't like the little shits.

Yes I know I'm being unreasonable about spiders. But if I could build them a spider sanctuary in the garden and they lodged there instead, I'd be very happy thank you!

I don't pay them much attention. The ones I have noticed all have names. I think they're cute.

I am feeling so guilty today, I stepped on what I thought was a crunchy, curled up leaf, to hear the crunchy sound, but turns out it was a brown slug.

We evicted this big buggar the other day.
Dc were convinced it was fake..
Until they saw my video!!

Well that big bugger certainly isn't cute Winter!
Wish I could think of them as cute though Chole I've also had more wood lice this year than I've seen in years (we used to call them slatybacks when I was a kid) it just makes me worry that I've got damp or something.
But yes, fair enough. I will try not to let them bother me.

You want to get yourself a Woodlouse Eating Spider.

(Those of a Nervous Disposition need not Google the species - they're big enough and tough enough to chase down and eat crispy little Woodlice. You don't need to know anything more than that.).

Well as the dm has been well received - here is the nest I disturbed....
The nest unravelled and about 20 babies tumbled down!!
Then they were also given their marching orders....

I have a house full of spiders. They were welcome until about a week ago when I realised the old cobwebs were getting out of hand.

Every year we have an eviction using the feather duster and both spiders and webs get popped out the back door. I think that day is coming again.

I have a pet spider living in the corner of my bathroom in the ceiling. He/(she ?) Keeps the mosquitos at bay. How long do spiders live? - I give him a passing nod to be polite when I go in!

Winterdaysarehere · 29/10/2019 20:50

All our usual spiders are welcome. We have a 7 legged one called Sharon!! She had an encounter with some fly tape last summer! That black one I evicted was something else!!
Our house is really old and full of them!! Futile trying to serve them all with an order tbh!!

There's one living in the corner of my bathroom. I don't hurt it and it doesn't hurt me. The other day it had a fly, but was polite enough to wait until I had finished showering before ingesting it.
