I'm returning to work from maternity leave and am so confused by UC. I put in a claim for childcare costs, but won't know what I am getting back until the 15th of next month. The first amount I paid was a deposit which is 1 month worth of fees which is used for the last month my son attends the childminder. I am also due to pay my next set of fees by the 1st of next month. So I've paid 2 sets of fees but still haven't received anything towards the first set, which leaves me in a pretty dire situation financially. I already had help with the first payment re upfront loan from universal credit.
Can anyone tell me if they will cover the cost of the deposit? They can't tell me on the phone. I put a note in my 'journal' but I don't know when to expect a response, if at all. Thanks.
