Essential oils and babies

Hi all,

Has anyone used essential oils with their babies (over three months old)? If so, which oils, for what and how have they been used? (In the bath, for massage etc?)

I find the use of oils on myself very beneficial for relaxation, to help me sleep and for improving my overall wellbeing. I used them daily dying my pregnancy and then during labour.

AIBU to consider the use of oils with my baby, particularly to aid sleep? Does anyone else out there do this or am I on a bit of going a bit off the beaten track here?

Thanks Flowers

I used lavender oil on cot sheets for both mine, to help them sleep. With DD I went to baby massage classes and regularly used essential oils mixed with a base oil for massage.

I occasionally put a bit of lavender oil or rose oil in her bath. Just a drop or two as pure oils are very strong.

I always used lavender oil and mixed it with coconut oil on my babies, for relaxation, massage and also for nappy rash.. I have never used nappy rash creams as I find lavender oil does the trick

When mine have a stuffy nose I put a few drops of eucalyptus oil on a muslin and pop it at the bottom of the cot at night.
