I used to have an account but I deleted it but I've just signed up again.

A few months ago we thought partner had a vomiting bug but then it went and then he started vomiting again. The GP said it could be anxiety and he was given tablets. And once the tablets started to work he was fine.

On Wednesday he went to get a new prescription but they didn't have the medication in until Monday.

Yesterday he took the last tablet. Today he's been okay but it was sons 1st birthday so he was distracted and we didn't have a party for him which helped (partner didn't want one and just wanted it to be the 3 of us). Tomorrow we are going away until Wednesday or Thursday. So im looking for advice and tips as he won't have his medication.

Thank you in advance!

Can't he call other pharmacies and find somewhere with it in stock? Then collect prescription & take it to that pharmacy?

He's like sky to have side-effects by not taking it

AboutDiamond · 26/10/2019 01:09

There are no other pharmacies local unfortunately. He wouldve gone early but he was busy with work and college etc. And he forgot to ask me to go to the pharmacy the other day.

Do you know what the medication is called?

dietcokeandgalaxyplease · 26/10/2019 01:32

Is it omemprezole? If so, you can buy them OTC. They're expensive but worth it if that's what he needs.

Just guessing as that's what's prescribed regular for stomach problems.

Seren85 · 26/10/2019 01:35

You can usually get an emergency prescription if you have the details. They'll call it it or check records.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 26/10/2019 01:38

Is it an anti anxiety medication or an anti vomiting one?

DontCallMeShitley · 26/10/2019 02:00

Buscopan? I think you can buy it.

AboutDiamond · 26/10/2019 06:03

It's an anxiety medication. I don't think it's omemprezole but not sure if the name I'll ask him when he wakes up.

Omeprazole isn't an anti anxiety drug, isn't it for reducing acid? I have to take it as I'm on a shed load of Naproxen.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 26/10/2019 06:47

Diazepam?

dietcokeandgalaxyplease · 26/10/2019 07:47

Yeah omeprezole is for stomach problems. Sorry, I was assuming the meds were for the vomiting rather than the anxiety. Didn't read it properly.

OP if your partner gets this on repeat prescription it is possible to go into a pharmacy and ask for an emergency supply to last the weekend. They won't for controlled drugs ie diazepam etc though. If it's controlled try calling 111 to see if they can arrange a gp to write a script. That's assuming your in UK of course.

kitk · 26/10/2019 07:49

Def ask for an emergency supply. If it's an anti depressant sudden withdrawal is not fun

AboutDiamond · 26/10/2019 09:30

We are going away today until Wednesday or Thursday. Partner is going to phone the pharmacy in a minute.
