Soo I'm on holiday.. I've got bad skin at the minute so yesterday I thought sod it didn't put any make up on and thought let my skin breathe. Couldn't be arsed doing my hair which has decided to go all frizzy and wayward in the heat so put it up in a ponytail and put some really casual clothes on. Normly I go out full face, dressed really well and hair groomed. Well... You would not believe the number of compliments I got while dressed trampy.. Even waiting with dh the barman complimented how lucky he was to be with me etc.. and several other compliments that day off others. I was like wtaf.. Dressed to the nines last night in the club and no one says anything. Aibu to be insulted? Should go out as a scruff more often 😂😂😂😂

Seems you look better without the makeup. Probably more relaxed too.
So many people feel they have to cover themselves in stuff to look good, when in fact they look better without it.

Could it be possible you overdo the makeup? A lot of men like quite natural makeup. Maybe men find you more attractive with a natural look 😊

Putting aside for a minute that what you've described isn't in any way 'trampy' (urgh! nasty judgemental word imo), maybe you just looked happier or more relaxed.

i must look trampy every day always wear my hair in a pony tail for work because it gets in the way otherwise, havent worn make up for years because it upsets my skin, dress in jeans and tee shirts because they are comfy and people say i dont look my age so cant be too bad the trampy look

I think you're misusing the word 'trampy'. To most people, a woman looking 'trampy' is someone who looks like they're a sex worker touting for business. You're merely allowing yourself to look like a normal relaxed woman on holiday and not caring to waste hours of time and pounds of money on your appearance.

Let your skin breathe every day, op. Going through the world in your natural state isn't trampy, that's a really misogynist attitude.

My DH tells me I look good without make up. I laugh in his face and tell him to stop lying! I do think a lot of men (and women) don't like full heavy make up though, you may seem more approachable without it perhaps.

You probably look very “done” normally the way you’ve described it. Maybe you looked natural and relaxed, more approachable?
