AIBU to ask to see your teenage box rooms?

OK, so basically my kids share a room. DS is 11 and DD 7. We've separated the room in half so they have half each but DS wants his side to look cooler. He wants a more cool teenage room look, so looking for some inspiration for "cool" looking small spaces really.

Pinterest is always good for some inspiration.

Trust me you don't want to see my teenagers room... Confused

I would say plain colours and nothing that's a fad they may grow out of (I'm looking at you fortnite!). Plus a budget for posters that can be easily changed when they start to follow different bands and things?

Keep it simple if it is a small room

my 12 yo is in a box room, but I don't know that it would be described as cool. She's got lots of Harry Potter, Ghibli and Tokyo Ghoul posters up right now. HMV and Forbidden are good hunting ground for posters.

yeah the room is just white and grey, furniture included. he just keeps telling me he wants it cooler but not offering any further input. i suspect he means magically tidy and set up like a catalogue with underlit shelving or something. for which he would have to throw away all his belongings to keep it tidy i suspect.

My DS' room looks quite cool. We rent so have to keep it neutral but made it a bit more interesting with a cool rug and some lighting.

You can buy cheap strip lighting that changes colour from amazon, what about sticking that on the undersides of shelves or something. My friend used it on her coving and it looks great. I'm not a massive fan of posters and I think they can look untidy - especially in a small space, but you could use one of those cheap photo- printing companies to do a canvas or two of a favourite band logo/ grafiti type image or similar?

I don't really like too many posters in a small room either. We did a wall sticker of headphones/music - a bit like this one but without the name and stuck his drumsticks round the top of the wall.

Not sure I've cracked the storage issue, and it's due a refresh, so also following for ideas.

Following for ideas. My daughter struggles to keep it tidy as it's so so tiny and doesn't have enough storage.
