Need to vent

DP and I pick ds up from nursery. Instead of water he brings him a cup of milk then some oatcakes as a snack. Now ds doesn't want any supper. I am always feeling really guilty about ds food and he isn't eating a healthy meal he usually ears. So will have a crap day of eating today again. Argh. Just venting and IABU probably but god I have to always be on the case as no one else thinks things through

If he’s eating healthily during the day and isn’t waking up through hunger then it’s no biggie.

formerbabe · 23/10/2019 18:24

It's one day...it's no big deal is it? Unless there's a long back story?

Blueberrycheesecake1 · 23/10/2019 18:25

It's his lack of variety. Feel like I get no help and there is no thought process that maybe giving a whole cup of milk and an oatcake before supper will mean he won't be interested in anything

This is an ongoing thing. I'm the only one who tries to get him to eat healthily.

I think maybe you’re overreacting. An oat cake isn’t exactly a king sized mars bar.

How is a cup of milk and an oatcake not healthy? I’m struggling with your logic here to be honest

Blueberrycheesecake1 · 23/10/2019 18:27

But thank you for putting things in perspective. When I am in charge its OK. I've worked out lots of little tricks to get him to eat things and generally manage. But then DP just gives him crap because its easy and always stodgy things and always the same thing

If I told you what DS eats when with his dad you would say it isn't balanced. Toast for breakfast (with marmite), toast for lunch (peanut butter) and fish fingers for supper. Oatcakes as a snack. No fruit veg and not even an attempt to offer it
