Currently looking at built in ovens. Hotpoint are looking like the best choice for my needs but I cannot get past the fact that Jamie fucking Oliver is gurning his way across all the literature, recommending his recipes and generally being the annoying twat he is.

So tell me, would him advertising ovens put you off the product?

If I had definitely decided that a particular "thing" was what I wanted and it met all my criteria, I wouldn't be put off by Jamie Oliver. If there was a pretty-much equal competitor, I might be.

Would, however, definitely be put off by BoJo.

Oh I don't know, I'd rather he sold ovens that ran the country.

I'm put of by brands that 'gift' to irrelevant instagram 'influencers'. There's a fine line between giving an item away to a select few in order to increase brand awareness and then giving it to anyone who has a decent amount of followers - why would I want to buy something if they keep giving the item away?

I had a baby last year and so did a few people I follow. Sleepyhead of Sweden and Elvie seemed to give their items away to every pregnant person I was following. All of whom have complained about their dcs being awful sleepers (so the sleepyhead doesn't appear to work in my view), and the majority of whom were given Elvie breast pumps stopped breastfeeding by 6 months so again it can't be that a great an item.

You have a point.

Still wouldn't buy from him. Grin

not a very effective boycott as I've long since stopped wearing makeup, but I stopped buying Rimmel when Kate Moss became the 'face'. Figured she could buy her own nose candy without my help.

Not quite at the stage of losing the least pitiful interest rate on the market by leaving Santander, but having to pay Drunk and Dec does rather stick in my craw.
