A MN thing is 'towed' the line!

Pieceofpurplesky · 23/10/2019 19:04

Rediculous thread.

As a teacher I see some interesting ones. A child (with no sen) wrote phonetically Along the lines of

Mum asked if my friend could come but she cunt. She cunt come because ... etc.

MaybeitsMaybelline · 23/10/2019 19:05

Omg, those that are saying Walla, do you actually mean people use this word for Voila? As in the french expression? Sorry my keyboard is UK English so doesn’t give me that acute accent.

Purplealienpuke · 23/10/2019 19:13

Mum asked if my friend could come but she cunt. She cunt come because ... etc....... 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Willowpuss · 23/10/2019 19:15

Have just saw a post of FB... Baby in a pumpkin, parent has written on it
"Trickle treat" ( trick or treat)

purplebunny2012 · 23/10/2019 19:17

I borrowed him a fiver. No, you may have lent him a fiver, but he borrowed it off you!

From you, not off

Hairmumscaremum · 23/10/2019 19:19

I saw a post someone moving house asking for carbor boxes

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/10/2019 19:20

I am Scottish. I lived in Yorkshire when young. I've been in London for nearly 40 years. I can say with confidence that 'Can I get ...' is not a regional usage that's made it into standard English. Is it American? Wherever it's from, I hate it. Whenever I hear it, I am silently grinding my teeth and saying internally 'Please may I have ...'

Bbq1 · 23/10/2019 19:22

I love these. Some people are so daft...My favourite example of this type of thing was when i fairly recently, saw a handwritten notice in a shop window advertising a "glass bowel" for sale!!That made me laugh and conjured up some strange images!!

missmouse101 · 23/10/2019 19:24

'Can I get' is appalling and sounds so rude. I'm sure it is an Americanism. No one said it in the 80s in Britain.

cactusthief · 23/10/2019 19:26

Seen, surely?

weeblefeet · 23/10/2019 19:28

There'll be reeper cushions

cactusthief · 23/10/2019 19:29

'Can I get' isn't Scottish regional anything, same as 'jamp' it's just wrong.

Can I HAVE

Minxmumma · 23/10/2019 19:39

My recent favourite was a local wedding dress shop repeatedly posting about people having vowel renewals, not vow renewal.

Butterisbest · 23/10/2019 19:40

Cactus thief
MAY I HAVE

mrsdaz · 23/10/2019 19:41

It’s bollocknaise isn’t it 😆

Jimjamjooney · 23/10/2019 19:50

I hang my head in she at people who say he's when they mean his, e.g. I lost he's spat bowl Angry

jacqroberts68 · 23/10/2019 19:53

I saw my first Toad in whole :)

cactusthief · 23/10/2019 19:53

Can I have is a request though, just not as polite as may I have.

Can I get on the other hand is stupid.

Habibi27 · 23/10/2019 19:58

Shouldn’t that be Chester Draws?

The3rdWatermelon · 23/10/2019 19:59

A while ago I saw a reference to someone being on the 'electro roll'

Sounds uncomfortable!

OnlyTheTitOfTheIceberg · 23/10/2019 20:01

Free reign and "I need to be discrete so he doesn't find out" are overtaking the proper versions. I see them on MN all the time, and it bugs me every time.

Jammysod · 23/10/2019 20:06

Spag bowl is gawjuss thow!

NotGreatBob · 23/10/2019 20:07

GLASS BOWEL! Genius!

Rose87777 · 23/10/2019 20:08

Where was you last night? (Bawk)
