This happens every year - when it gets to October/November until spring, I get so tired I can barely wake up and have no energy at all. I could quite probably sleep for days and just not wake up. The rest of the year I'm fine. I take vitamin d3 supplements and multivitamins, but I'm like this without fail. I love Christmas, or at least the idea of it, but when it gets to that time of year I can barely keep my eyes open throughout it. As soon as it gets to spring, I might feel a bit tired when I wake up, but I can get through the day fine without feeling like I am going to fall asleep any second!

I wanted to ask whether other MNetters get like this and if you do, is there anything you've found that helps?!

Have you googled SAD? Seasonal affective disorder. Also look into getting an infrared lamp.

Yes, am with you OP, think we’re programmed to hibernate, a big feed and then sleep till spring

DanielRicciardosSmile · 21/10/2019 20:57

Could it be SAD? Have you spoken to your GP? Light therapy can work wonders I believe.

Actionhasmagic · 21/10/2019 20:58

Get a lumi lamp. It Worked wonders for me

Roll on the summer... Grin

Apparently the NHS recommend that we all take vitamin D throughout the winter - this definitely helps! You can pick some up from the pharmacy.
