Anyone gotten pregnant soon after husband having snip ??

My husband had the snip 2 months ago , just wondering how likely pregnancy would Happen if we say didn't wait to have the all clear tests ?? Thing is - he's a teacher so he can't take time off until Christmas now to get the test done - I know half terms coming Up but it's still too early . Anyway , 🙈😂 we are not having unprotected sex YET !! Just wanted to see if anyone thought " bugger it " and got caught out before getting the all clear .

The only way to guarantee you won't get pregnant is to wait for the tests to come back. I assume you both neither want a baby so surely it would be silly to throw caution to the wind. Either wait or use another method until you get the results.

You would be really stupid to risk it. I can’t really believe anyone would go through the pain of having surgery on their testicles and then not use protection until it was confirmed that the vasectomy had been successful.

My friends DH took until 11 months to get the all clear, numerous post snip tests!!!

My dh took 6 months to clear. He posted his sample, ask about that option.

Dp had his done 2 weeks ago. Test is 1st feb! He just has to collect a pot, fill it at home then post it apparently! No need for time off

He shouldn’t need to take time off to have the test done.... they can definitely be done by post (sending in sample I mean, they’re just looking for presence of sperm). I’d also say not worth risking it.

Were you on board with the idea of no more children? You seem awfully keen to risk the one thing the operation is intended to avoid.

Yes, my dear friend had a 3rd post vasectomy. A friend of my mum's had twins.

XH still had swimmers at his first post op test, we had to wait a few more months before getting the all clear.

I wouldn't risk it!

My friends wife got pregnant and unfortunately miscarried after his vasectomy. They are by no means 100% effective

Most of the post-vasectomy pregnancies I’ve read about happened because the couple didn’t have the sperm analysis test! If you don’t take the test seriously what was the point in the vasectomy!

Obviously I don't want anymore kids 🤔🤦‍♀️ my husband just doesn't seem keen to even have the post test at all tbh . But if he can post it ; I didn't know he could : then that's brilliant - I thought he would have to wait until he had time off and even then he said he wasn't going to bother 😳 I think I'll def convince him to post it then . My friends husband had it done 2 years ago and he's never had a post check - I find it crazy as she's still on the pill . I don't see what the point of him having it was 😂

my best friends son had 3 vas deferends. the first snip only did two..i gather having 3 is unusual but not unheard of.
cant he leave early for medical tests? teachers here can. book a sub for either early am or afternoon?

The pill has other uses than just preventing pregnancy.

She'd probably think you were crazy to have the op and then go back to fucking bareback before you know it's worked.

Did he definitely have the vasectomy done? Why doesn’t he want to have the test done? Seems pointless to have the snip and then not get the all clear.

I’d definitely wait. My brothers failed. The sperm sample never showed zero and 2 babies later he had it redone. Turns out they’d completely missed one tube.

@pugparty - yes she is actually taking it to prevent pregnancy that's all . 🙄😑 . And I never said I was going bareback did I , I was just asking how likely it was to happen if I did which I obviously am now not going to do . 🤦‍♀️🙄

Yeah he did 💯 have it done .

FYI OP it’s not possible to post a sample everywhere - DH had to take sample to hospital within an hour of erm production. He needed time off work.
