DD dry painful nose when breathing after surgery

I'm posting here due to the amount of answers and help that I will get - DD is thirteen and just had surgery on her adenoids and turbinates. It has been two - three weeks and she has just woken up and told me that she can breathe through her nose. I listened and she is 100% breathing properly (proud mum moment Smile) however she says that it feels dry and painful and it makes the roof of her gums at the back feel quite sore when she breathes. Is this normal? She had this problem before and it was one of her main reasons for wanting the surgery Sad

Her nose is also still nasal which worries me a bit - how long should I wait?

Hi. Having the feeling of a dry nose must be horrible. Can she rub some Vaseline up her nostrals? Or is that a nono?

@downudderer The DR gave some cream to put in nose to prevent scarring and heal faster but she hates it Sad I agree it must feel horrid
