We are staying in a hotel as part of a training weekend. All accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner is included. At check in the receptionist confirmed this again.
We took a seat in the bar and asked the waitress if there was a set menu. She said the full menu was available and dinner for two was to the value of fifty quid.
We ordered, ate, paid the reduced bill as it was over fifty.
Later the waitress called our room to say she’d made a mistake and it was in fact a set menu. We should have been seated in the restaurant instead of the bar and given a specific menu only. That she could not balance the till in the bar until the fifty was paid.
DH paid by card to cover this amount. I didn’t mind at the time as the rest of the weekend is paid for. But that means the meal was paid for in advance by the company and then again by ourselves?
AIBU to think that as it was their mistake that we should be refunded or given a voucher?
