Posting here for traffic.
I'm 38 weeks pregnant and have dd age 2.5. She's always been a great sleeper. Down for 7.30pm-7am in her own room. Fully potty trained now abt 5 months. Odd time she will wake to use toilet during the night.
However the past couple of weeks she has been waking and crying wanting into our bed and won't settle for over an hour. This is usually around 2am.
Could this be due to baby's arrival coming up and she's seeing things lyk moses basket set up new pram etc.
How do I help her. Or is it mabey soemthing else.
Thanks in advance

IME kids go a bit weird at 2,5 but I suspect you’re right that it’s the new stuff and the imminent arrival of baby that’s adding fuel to what could be a standard phase of “weird waking”.

Dealing with that at 38w pg is EXHAUSTING but just shush her and keep saying “mummy’s here” to get her back to sleep. Don’t engage in chat, just “shhh shhh shhh shhhh mummy’s here”.

It could be the new baby, but it could also be night terrors. My two were both particularly bad with that around that age.

Whatever you do, do not let her sleep in your bed! You'll not be able to stop it. Sit with her a while and stroke her hair, maybe find a comforting night light or allow her to look at a board book alone until she feels sleepy again.

My hubby has been great getting into her little toddler bed beside her to get her back over lol
Im jst worried abt the new arrival and how she's going to feel.
Mummy guilt I think Confused

Oh she isn't aloud into our bed. She never has been. Which is why this is so strange. I fully think it's because I have moses basket set up beside my bed and she knows her baby sister wil sleeo in mummys room
